Just wondering how I can reset my perks since:

[Engine.SteamStatsAndAchievementsBase]
bResetStats=true

doesn't seem to work anymore. If I add that to the KillingFloor.ini file and launch KF, it just changes to false and adds bDebugStats=False under it.

Haven't played KF in a lonnnggg time, and I wanna start from scratch. (Not to mention I got some of my perks dishonestly quite some time ago, and want to start over)

:D

Does it just reset your achievements at this point? I've noticed a number of people now that have tried putting those lines of code into the .ini file only to wipe the achievements for their efforts; the perks remained as they were.

or you can wait a day and olivier will come do the google search for you :p

>=O
KillingFloor.ini --> put this anywhere:

[Engine.SteamStatsAndAchievementsBase]
bResetStats=true

open KF --> make sure your Perks are gone --> remove the command from the .ini

exact path if you cant find the file: c:\program files\steam\steamapps\common\killing floor\system\killingfloor.ini

You must be warned that once you will hit the save button, you will never be able to get your perks and achievements back.

Should work :)

It seems no one read the original post.

I already tried that, but it doesn't work. Did the new update stop this from working? Can a GM reset my perks?

I did read your whole post, but there's like 3 killingfloor.ini. Are you sure you are in the right one?

I'll try again. :D

EDIT:
I searched, but only found one KillingFloor.ini file.

It is still changing to false whenever I launch the game. I even tried setting the file as read-only. The game opened, but my perks weren't reset even though it stayed set to true in the ini file.

Here's how I did it.....

I waited until Killing Floor went on sale for $5 and purchased a copy for another steam account.

I know this is off topic BUT I wanted to add that it's worth it it to buy a second account when it goes on sale. $5 is a cup of coffee at Starbucks. I think most ppl can spare and extra $5. I helps support continued improvements by putting $$$ in Tripwire's pocket.

Plus if you're like me and have buddies of all levels and skills you can hop on your old account and have something maxed out for a suicidal, Poundemonium, Endless on the ganga farm, etc. with your friends of a higher level/Skill.

First of all the game costs 17.99 on Steam.

Second of all I don't see why I should buy a game twice for a single feature that should be part of the game anyway.

Do you really think I should support Tripwire with my money because they do such a good job??? If this was the case I might do it.

Since the day I started to play this game it has been packed with bugs and glitches. More than a year later nothing has changed:

People can still lock themselves in doors, look through doors when they hit it with knife etc, sometimes after self medication you cannot draw a weapon for seconds, sometimes flamethrower doesn't stop shooting for no particular reason; reload animations are ****ed up all the time etc. etc. etc. Moreover I found a thread where one of the developers promised to integrate a "perk reset button" soon. It's been a year and still there is no such feature.

Last but not least there is no support in the support section here. Noone seems to care.

Don't get me wrong I like the gameplay and the idea of the game but the bugs and the sloppy programming of the game make it hard to believe that Tripwire put a lot of effort in it or will ever change anything to improve it.

So NO I won't pay 18 bucks again. Noone should.

It goes on sale a lot for $5. i wouldn't pay full price for another copy but i think it might have even been last month that it was on sale. Personally, I've played several MMOs and the bugs on those suckers make KF's little issues seem like nothing. I don't think I've ever played a bug free game. Tripwire does a decent job of trying to fix things. I think they do a better job then, for example, Turbine or SOE, and they charge a monthly fee for their games.

However, I do agree that there should be a way to easily reset your perks. I'm sure Steam's system makes things complicated.

If you find any solution for this please post here. I'm having the same problem and since I already bought the game at full retail price I see no need to buy a new copy even if it is 5$ when a moderator told us to do this and said it would work and now it doesn't. I just want a reply telling me how to fix it or telling me it will be fixed later.
