If you're seeking to improve your skills as an infantryman, are willing to spend some time with available resources and apply that knowledge, a great deal of excellent info can be gained from military field manuals. Below are links to a US military field manual, and an excellent guide, that are loaded with tactics that can be applied to RO2.
I hope someone finds this useful. Anything is available by using Google obviously, but I'll add more if anyone wants it, and as my motivation to post allows
- FM 203-21.8 The Infantry Rifle Platoon and Squad - US Marine Corp "This field manual provides a doctrinal framework on how Infantry rifle platoons and squads fight." Portions of this can be skipped, as they pertain to things either very specific to the marine corp, or are inapplicable to games.
- Dslyecxi's "Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures" Guide - Written with ArmA 2 in mind, but filled with useful infantry specific info that can certainly be applied to RO2. I think this is a particularly useful guide; much of it comes from field manuals, and it has been "prefiltered" for tactics useful for realistic military gaming, without unnecessary military procedure.
- {edit}How could I forget Tactical Preschool?! An awesome series of blogs. I think there are around 70 entries so far, so you'll have to travel around the blog a bit. Lots of practical CQB tips.
