Late at night...there were only a few suicidal & hard games with decent ping for me, so out of frustration and the need to kill, I joined a normal game; of which there were plenty to choose from.

As I roll in (like wave 1 or 2), I tell these guys I am just going to be their backup...it's up to them to do the work; but I will be there if **** hits the fan.

O. M. G. I had so much fun, firstly - these guys were openly grateful that I was spearheading this, and stoked I wasn't gonna kill everything.

When **** did finally hit the fan, it was pretty funny. Hell, I might even knock a few beers back this weekend and try it again Being the backup guy is great fun.

I did have a mate at work who after months and months of nagging I talked into buying the game... he finished downloading the game without telling me and was quick to join me as a level 0 commando in my suicidal server on wave 10...

Literally 3 seconds in a Fleshpound spawned and locked its sights right on him and mashed him into mincemeat... I desperately tried to explain to him that wasn't his fault, he just got exceptionally unlucky and prayed he didn't ragequit the game

To his credit he stuck out the round and joined us in taking on the Patriarch... who also nearly had him in 1 too. I don't think I could have planned a worst first day if I had tried

If you are smart, you should understand that if some Potential Player, would see this thread, were new Player's are being discuss(not frendly,Without their participation) for theirs mistakes, they Wouldn't like this game because of such frendly Comrades.

If anyone has a sense of humor, they'd get the point of this thread right off the bat. It's to point out the oh so silly antics of noobs (not newbs). And of course, who doesn't like making fun of people? That's the central thesis of pure, good, lighthearted comedy.

Btw, if they want to "participate," they can...oh I dunno, join the forums maybe?

I've been getting alot of this on my suicide server. (Not always like this but you get the idea.):

*Level 0-3 comes into ready room.*
Me: hey (level 0-3 player), I think it's wise to join a lower difficulty server to get used to the game mechanics.
Him/her: Nah, I can handle it.
Me: You sure? This is Suicide, the hardest difficult there is. They can roll you very quickly if you're not prepared.
Him/her: I played (Insert FPS game here), so I can do this.
Me: Ooook, if you're so sure.
*Wave 1 Begins*
*(Level 0-3) gets eaten by a Clot/vommited by a Bloat/Eaten by a gorefast.*
*(Level 0-3) has an aneurysm.*


@HeLL_BREATH: I think you're viewing this thread the wrong way. A lot of us understand that newbies can tend to do stupid stuff. We've all been there. But there is a HUGE difference between a newb and a noob. This thread should be viewed by new players as advice from the more experience players on what to to and what NOT to do.

Dude, its just a harmless bit of fun. Everyone is anonymous, noone has given any players name who has made these kind of mistakes, and at some point in all of our Killing Floor careers, either we, or someone we know has made an unbelievable cock up like this and killed the team. Its fun to remind us of those moments.

For example I'm a total RO newbie and I went into the forums for RO and looked at some of the threads in there. There was one entitled Murphys Laws of RO that had me giggling my face off.

One of them said "The sickest shot you will ever pull off will be a team kill" and another said "after crawling thorugh enemy territory for 5-10 minutes to your goal you will get killed 10 ft from your goal with someone on your own team shouting about his incredible 800ft kill shot... which will be you..."

I went into a game and did exactly that almost by magic. Although I felt rotten for doing it, its funny when I think about it in hindsight. There is a real difference between having fun and joking about stuff and blatantly taking the piss out of specific people. Noone has been named, so noone is taking the piss.

Lastly, and I mean this the nicest way possible, you are not a moderator, let the real mods do their jobs. If you feel someone is trolling then click the report button in their post, do not challenge them yourself and start wars in the forum.

One time when I join a suicidal server and see my team is wipe out @ wave 1, 72 zeds left. And the map is changed to west london. At the ready screen, I see 3 0lvs, 2 1lvs. I was like WTF?

I try to convince them to join a normal server but they just say teamwork make us win. They force the game start as they are all ready. They choose to weld themselves into the building beside the spawn point. I told them that's NOT gonna work and they just dont believe me. I have no choice but to go alone. I see them die one by one and 2 of them die before they can kill a single zed. The "best man" among them have 5 kills before he die.

What really makes me surprised was NONE of them leave. I keep telling them their level is way way too low for suicidal and they just dont listen. They still think if they stick together they are "possible" to win. And after wave 3 finally someone leave, me.

I think an official guide for beginners should be written, and I don't mean the killing floor wikipedia. I mean a down-to-earth guide written by veteran players who are aware of the common mistakes beginners make. That way lvl 0 sharpshooters aren't running around with shotguns.

I've re-read the entire thread, I don't see anything that can be considered unfriendly.

The fact is there are people who don't want your help even if they need it. I've given friendly suggestions to plenty of people and they've simply called me a twat and gone and got themselves killed.

That seems to be the general feeling all around, there alot of people who aren't good natured and friendly in games, and these are the people we are making fun of.

So if your gonna call someone a troll, and risk starting a flame war, make sure your 100% sure about it first, otherwise you risk getting reported yourelf

I remember this one time. Not sure if the guy was new to the game or not, but his account was new to the forums. Anyway, there was this thread started about funny nooby stories being told for a bit of a laugh and this guy came in and was speaking all this gibberish and no-one could understand him. Then to top it off, I think he called everyone trolls for not liking him or his unstructured gibberish. I personally thought he was a bit of an idiot to be honest and made my feelings quite clear that I could not understand him and neither could anyone else. Good times were had Wonder what happened to him and I wonder if he has really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like yet?
