Renegade X release today

For all those people who never played the original CnC renegade there's a UT3 mod remake of it out sometime today.

Download it!

If you never played the original cnc renegade, it's like an RTS except every unit is player controlled. It was the best team game ever made. It still has a large community today, hopefully the majority will migrate to RenX (if it doesnt suck). The whole concept of a RTS/FPS has been done before but this is really the only game that has done it right.

So donate me some cash for a mammy if you see me ingame.

I'm actually an environment artist with the team but I may do a map or two in the future. My work so far has gone into texturing buildings, most notably the Advanced Guard Tower and Weapons Factory.

I hope you guys enjoy the Beta release! Lots more to come in the future as well.

First off, you can delete all official maps if you're only gonna play mods. At least I think so.
And Guppy, I hope you can make a map for it. I didn't like the maps in the original and I don't think I'll like the remakes either.

Yeah I agree on the maps. I like the more open maps of 'a path beyond'. If you haven't played APB you should try it as it's stand alone and free.

Looking marvelous. Thanks to this and AFF-Planetstorm, I strongly consider buying UT3 now.
Reminds me of buying UT2004 back then, where my main motivation was the imminent 2.0 release of a promising UT2003 mod called Red Orchestra

Only if there would be some bloody players and no 500 ping servers. Not sure why, but UT3 seems to be pretty ghey on me with its "insert CD key" messages aswell.

We're pushing to get all the multiplayer content out at the moment but some of the team are considering SP missions at a later date. Multiplayer is priority right now though.

Changes to the frontend server browser are ongoing. Hopefully it will be much easier to find a game in the future.
