Removable Front Sight Hood for Kar98

I know many see this as trivial but the kar is my favorite rifle to use and with all the time I spend with it I prefer looking down the sights w/o the hood. Any chance this will be an option?

That option would be pretty neat since I never liked that they introduced the hood in Ostfront.

I thought the hood was only introduced after africa and wasn't neccesarily a add/remove if you want to? But then I don't really know... either way it seems a bit a-n-a-l being able to add or remove this.

Ok, make sure they include front sight glare and the possibility of messing up the sight if you drop your rifle.

+ IMO not having it kinda kills the character of the gun.


Nonetheless, there should be the option.

I quite like the hood on the Kar98, it makes it look really cool, the same with the other hoods for the G43 and StG44

To each his own. I think it looks much better w/o because it looks more streamlined and not like a hefty piece of weaponry with a flimsy piece of metal clamped to the front. Plus without you can see more of your target. Alot of soldiers would knock it off during the war.

But anyway it'd be cool to have the option for both viewpoints' satisfaction.

Personally i think it comes in pretty handy to have the hood on, because you can use the hood as a bigger 'ironsight' of sorts in close combat, you dont need to look that precise, just put the big hood on the target and pull the trigger.
But options in this arent wrong.

I wont vote, as i dont think its essential, nor do i think its bad to have it.

I'd say yes for the options because then maybe other weapons will have optional things for them. But I like the hood on better.

Yes it is detachable. When I bought my Russian captured k98 it didn't have a sight hood. I went to a military antique store and the owner had a few hoods. Although it took a pair of pliers to put it on. I think removing a sight hood would be a soldier preference but the Germans where very particular about appearance. A soldier might get reprimanded for removing it from his superiors.
