Is there anyway that when you go to reload there could be an animation to show you the FPS player looking down and opening up the ammo pouches or wherever the ammo is and pull out the magazine for loading into the gun? It would make the game seem so much more realistic. Would that completely impossible to do?

I think they will not implement that feature (if they have the time to do) because, some will complaint that "take the control of the player".

Also, to make this working you need a full 1rst person view body modelised, animated ammo pouches, specific reload animations for every weapons, a lot of work.

If it could be be in i would like it, but it really depends on how its done.
they dont have to put in to the point where it take all your view controll away and you cant work and so on.

it would work well with looking down to see how much ammo you have looking at legs and stuff.

I like this, but it would become troublesome after a while so you should be able to check your ammo when you want, not every time your reload.

yeah i dont mean check ammo everytime but, having your view look abit down when grabing a new mag would be ok.

checking ammo could be a key or just look all the way down at yourself, but of course this only would work will fully modeled bodies.

but really i would just be happy with seeing my feet.

Its not a bad idea but I am afraid you would also loose precious moments of attention. What would bugger me the most would be that i would loose the view of the battlefield for a short period.
A little fps animation while still looking at what you were shooting last is Imo still the most adequate solution.

If first person bodies are implemented, you could simply look down while reloading if you want.

Dunno if it's in though.

But I also think you wouldn't need to look down to pull something out of a pouch. Humans tend to have decent body awareness and don't need to look at where their hands to know where they are.

Yeah, it's really unessecary to have someone look down every time they grab something out of a pouch. Do you look at your pocket every time you take your cell phone out of it?
Exactly -- there's absolutely no reason for a soldier to look at a mag pouch in order to open it and take out a new magazine. You can do all of that without looking.

Also, this would require full first person body modeling which I don't think RO2 has. Trying to implement this entire system and then change all of the animations to suit it would be a huge ordeal.

Well hockey, tanks have full 1st person body and I guess I to remember one interview which states that it's actually in.

Still you absolutely right, myself during reenactment I can't remember to look done to my waist belt to grab a new mag.

it was just a suggestion... maybe it will be implemented in RO3;) .... I really like the idea of just having a button for the ability to look down, I agree it would be redundant if you had to look down every singe time you reloaded. I think graphics and gameplay can only go so far, so adding in features like this would add to the in game immersion and differentiate it.

While I think that this suggestion certainly would be kinda cool, it would be annoying as f**k to see your avatar look down at his mag-pouches every single time you reload.

With free-view and a full 1st person body it would be different of course. :)

Yeah forcing someone to look away when it's not needed isn't favourable - and in reality there's literally no reason to look. It's a nice "show off" sort of idea, but it would make it very easy to lose targets at distance, miss enemy movement etc

I'm all for giving people the option to look with freeaim/quicklook sort of system though.

Lemon is back.....:D

Consider the different animations needed for when you're crouched, prone, standing.
Not needed, imo.
You see yourself loading and concentrating where the magazine/stripper clip is inserted, that should suffice.

Fun on the range....

You didn't miss much, Lemon. Just a video of guys shooting an IPSC course. Lots of reloads. Grab magazine, load weapon while moving quickly between stations. Didn't realize it would be a problem....

I used to think this was a good idea, too, but I realized along with others that you don't need to look down at your pouches to see what you're grabbing. You feel the weight of the magazine to check its ammo (already in the game), and you can maneuver it into your weapon with only the smallest bit of attention. For clip fed weapons, it's even easier, because you can feel the number of rounds you are grabbing. This would obviously need more attention because it requires more precise motor skills to load.

If this was implemented, it would be a nightmare to animate each sequence grabbing ammunition from a different pouch.

For a complete Kar 98k, you have to animate each pouch, which there are six of, and in each is a divider, so you would have to create 12 different reload animations alone. That's a lot, and it's really not worth it. I can imagine the G41 being an EXTREME nightmare as a result of this.

My preference: Conventional reloads, no pouches.

I have a feeling that the full first person body rendering is only in tanks -- not as a regular soldier too.
