Uuuh what?

I think he's talking about the HUD colors and font in the videos.

BC2 early videos had a waaaay different HUD set ups and it came out different, I expect the same for RO2.

And don't worry, the game freaking based off realism and immersion. Relaxed will only be a tiny bit different than regular, it's not gonna be the MW2/BC2 HC/SC with the 6 shot kills going to th 1 shot kills.

I don't like it either. I'm going to assume at best the divide will be right down the middle. Half the community will play relaxed, half normal. Probably closer to 60-70% playing relaxed.

Dividing the community is never good IMO.

A realistic/tactical shooter is more than 1 shot kill gameplay.

well i daresay barely any of us will like it, and consequently wont play it, which is why it won't be dividing the community, it should be adding to it.

The likelyhood is that more ppl will be tempted to move to full realism than the other way, which means our part of the comunity will probably grow larger.(presuming realistic mode satisfies us, a factor that an additional relaxed mode should have no baring on)

This mode isn't designed for us, there must have been plenty of ppl who tried RO during the free weekends and found it too hard going to get into.
Whether it is effectively becomes a beginner mode or the general prefered game type, I can't get unhappy because tripwire aren't tailoring the game to my personal specifications - it's their product - at least it seems we are being catered for.

Same here.

:IS2::IS2:

Same here too.

Whoever thinks relaxed realism is gonna break the game is mistaken. The game will still be good to play it that way and even then, nobody will force you to play in that mode.

I'd also like to ask people to stop beating this dead horse. It's been done to death, and the relaxed realism mode is here to stay.

I'm afraid relaxed mode will have too much unrealistic features and that regular realism will be too limiting.

Ramm already said that the level of realism will be fully configurable, there are not "just 2 modes".

I like, i dont allways want a full "hardcore" game. choice is what i like!

Exactly,

Choice and options, are good things, having the game locked down is just begging for problems, and as stated above there ain't just two modes, the server side settings are many.

No need to cry about dividing the community , dividing the overall community comes with forced-to-pay DLC, not server sided options.

I think You hit the nail on the head with the game breaking paid DLC comment, server realiam options are good to keep the old players happy and get the new players that found RO a bit daunting and therefore (for them) unenjoyable.

I'm a big fan of the relaxed realism mode and i'll tell you why.

1. ROHOS will aim for a bigger audience that is a given. I expected ROHOS to be made a lot more mainstream than ROOST as TWI needs to earn money. And that primarily means more notifications and more focus telling you how to play rather than deciding that for yourself.

Because there is a relaxed realism mode, that means that the realistic realism mode can be made more hardcore and realistic, than roost or hos could ever be without an option.

2. Splitting a community is bad, however differentiation by focusing on different communities that are already split isn't bad.

There are loads of players that do not like respawns like with RO, adding countdown won't seperate the community it will give every player a thing of their own. And the realism modes are the same.

As long as there are realistic realism servers I won't need to play on multiple servers anyway.

Then they've probably nailed the middle ground.

Isn't this mostly optioned anyway so you can find the gameplay *realism* you like.

I wouldn't be worrying about this, because game realism is just a realitive experience, and next year you'll have new ideas about what you think you want for it anyway.

You're not really splitting the community per say... you don't need two separate browsers for the modes like RO and MN/DH. It will probably be a filter setting where you can see one or the other or both modes for servers.

I will say that hopefully more players decide that "Realism" mode is the way to go.

I would not say that I'm in favor of relaxed realism, but I'm not a proponent of absolute realism either.

I dislike when more uncommon tanks are given preference over mainstay tanks, and when mythical tanks such as the T-34 and Tiger have their abilities enhanced for the purpose of their "Hollywood image" being kept alive. Sadly, I have little faith in the TWI devs when it comes to this. I'm expecting them to keep the T-34 myth alive, although the Panzer IV G would knock out the T-34 at a longer range than the T-34 could knock the Panzer IV G out. But hopefully they will prove me wrong.

Then there's features that can be classified as unrealistic that I prefer. For instance, I won't play on a server without kill messages, nor would I play without a scoreboard. Not to sound like a scorew***e, but I do feel gratification when a message pops up that I have killed a bunch enemy soldiers. Additionally, I would say that the kill messages to a degree makes up for what the game lacks in communication; there's of course voice comm, but one's situation awareness is not nearly as good as it would have been in the actual war in close quarters.
