Hi Folks,

This is my first post. I understand Red Orchestra v 3.3 is free and requires Unreal 2004 to play.

I have two additional questions:

1.) Do I need Steam to play this 3.3 version ?
2.) I understand Single Player is not the main focus. Is the Single Player decent at least and worth a try ?

Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

nobody plays RO 3.3 anymore beside perhaps on saturday. Playing against bots is not worth your time at least in my opinion. The singleplayer in Roost and RO3.3 is only multiplayer with bots, and the ai of the bots isn't really good.

Most people here play the game released on steam:

1) No Steam required.
2) Offline is worthless. The bots are very dumb. I've tried to find servers on about 10 ocassions in the past year with no luck.

There are some nice maps that sadly did not make it over to RO Ost. A few other things seem to have been done better in 3.3. That being said, I feel Ost is the superior game overall. And people actually play it.

Do yourself a favor and buy a copy of RO Ost.

Just to clarify. RO 3.3 is a mod for Unreal Tournament 2004.

The current version of Red Orchestra is a commercial product, "Red Orchestra: Ostfront 1941-1945" and does not require Unreal Tournament.
