Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45 Patch released Thursday 22 June

Tripwire Interactive is pleased to announce that we are releasing the next patch for Red Orchestra through Steam during 22nd June 2006. Time is currently set for 11:00 am Pacific time (2:00pm Eastern, 7:00pm UK, 8:00pm Central European), although this may vary slightly!

This patch (1007) combines bug fixes, performance enhancements, updates requested by the community and 2 new weapons. Here is a quick summary of the content:

• Added the MP41 submachine gun for the Germans and the M44 rifle, with permanent bayonet, for the Soviets
• Added the French localization files and updated the German
• Added base code for flying and hover vehicles into the engine for mod teams
• BA64 physics changed so the vehicle is more stable
• Tweaked armor and penetration values for the Tiger, T-60 and SU-76, as well as increasing the power of the Tiger

- Fixed a bug where tank shell penetration damage for internal components was not functioning correctly.

What's this mean? When a tank's engine catches fire the tank is disabled, yes?

Let me give an example: I was in a Tiger and I was angled right? A shell bounced off without the screen flashing red, but my little tank icon showed that the engine was damaged. Same thing happened with grenades.

Sounds good, I was starting to worry that some of the major bugs were not going to be addressed. This is a very nice change log for a first patch. And my release date/time guess was off by 2 hours.
