I had RO2 uninstalled and decided to install it immediately with the opt-in beta. It got to 99%, having downloaded the 9.8 gb, and then started flashing between Update Paused and 99%. Tried restarting steam, tried verifying cache (was verified successfully) and I tried toggling the Keep This Updated thing. I tried opting out, but that sent it to 0%, so... I'm trying to reinstall it.

Do you need to install regular RO2, and then beta? Doesn't seem like it since they're two separate installations.

I'm having this problem too now.

A redownload didn't help a thing. Hopefully we'll get some more info about this soon.

I had no problems myself other than the usual restart the game about 8 times before it accepts my audio changes from 32 to 128.

For some of you, perhaps your download location changed? Doesn't that sometimes cause problems?

How did you fix it, did it fix on its own? I'm still getting the problem. It seems like steam refuses to move the game folder from Downloading to Common. I read somewhere that Read-Only was messing with things, but I tried unsetting it and it keeps getting set back to read-only.

Btw, C:\Documents and Settings\Username.Computername\My Documents\My Games\RedOrchestra2\ROGame\Config Is there you need to delete config files. You can back them up too, which is a good idea.

Absolutely nobody is playing this. Had the game running all day, hardly anything. It's sad really. Where are the masses of former OST players waiting to play the new mode that everyone keeps talking about? You would think they'd be filling the servers...

It's been in beta since March...we've got a bit bored of playing with 12 - 18 players.

Right file, wrong path. You want the one in MyDocs/MyGames/RO2/RoGame/Config/

Not RO2Beta. The stand alone RO 2 beta currently has no servers active. They have all been swapped for the live build beta.

Make sure you have 1.1.0.0

You can find the line about 50 from last.

I played all afternoon yesterday..... it downloaded OK and I was in like Flynn.

This opt-in beta is sweet. Now if the support/install details can get straightened out... so the world's RO2 users can get the files... (STEAM??) we'll soon hear from everyone. Including the ROOSTERS. They're all in for a very pleasant surprise. TWI has been very busy.

All three modes of play are very well done. :)

Futzing with the read-only nonsense didn't do anything. I also tried deleting my entire RO2 directory; after uninstall it remained there due to custom maps. Nothing has worked though. The game folder stays in the Downloading folder and no RO2 folder is created in the common folder.

I even tried making a red orchestra 2 folder in common and pasting the files from Downloading into it. Not a single thing did it.

I'm on Windows XP. I can't think of any other solutions, and I really don't want to reinstall steam, I have a large amount of games installed right now. :s

I've tried downloading and deleting local content, verifying cache, deleting registry blob, about seven times now! this is getting annoying.

Maybe it's something to do with the modifications we made to steam to download the separate beta? I can't remember what it was, or I'd revert it and try then.
