Has anyone noticed how nothing happened when T34 shot his first shell at PzIV's side?

First, you cannot know what happened really. Maybe he damaged a little bit the engine, or wounded some crewmen, or...nothing!

A penetrating shell sometimes does nothing (you should play DH)

Second, maybe he hit a soldier...not sure

Judging by the latest demo video, they are more of a nuisance than an effective AT weapon.

With penetration I see that at rifle being very handy.

check the roof of the house at 3.00 and 3.30.
some snow falling off it.

Ever heard of a penetration may not always cause damage inside a tank besides a hole and maybe some crewmember annoyed that some small piece of shrapnel scrapped a flesh wound in his hand?

No, that would break the inside and outside of the tank paradox.
