He still got the record for highest and fastest jump, though. I think that's quite an accomplishment.

Right before opening the chute he was complaining about the visor fogging up and him not being able to see anything. He also had problems with visor heating while on the ascent. I suspect that might have had something to do with him opening the chute earlier (tho I'm of course not sure).


That said, in my eyes, this mission was more about the science than about breaking records.

Well he broke 2-3 records in one go, and broke the freaking sound barrier by a long short... that's a pretty big deal. Science is important too, I guess
