Recoil in RO felt rough because of how recoil didn't have any inertia. Perhaps recoil would feel more natural if RO:O had inertia, which makes recoil feel more like a push than a kick. I have never shot a gun, but to my logic, the recoil is absorbed by the body, so the recoil would probably have a follow-through motion.

The gun should settle to where it was pointing before it was fired. Kinda like how the recoil system in CS or Call of Duty works. It's realistic because the body somehow naturally repositions it like that.

I have held hand targets in Tae Kwon Do and after the person who is hitting the hand target hits it, it forces the target up, and then it settles back to where it was before it was hit. Probably the types of muscles that straighten certain muscles do that, I dunno. I would appreciate it if somebody with this knowledge could explain.
