Everyday the peak players is decreasing drastically. The two Aussi/NZ servers are going down, and they are the only ones I can play with a good ping. Do you guys honestly think this game will pick back up after all is fixed? I really hope it does, I really enjoy it. It's my first RO game as well. Hope it's going to last a lot longer than it seems...

I think it'll probably pick up again and stay steady if they fix many of the problems. I for one isn't playing it very much right now since I'm waiting for the stat-issue and some other things to be resolved/changed. Tried to play the original, but after playing this one a lot of the controls feel very stiff and clunky. (Although I do prefer the slower gameplay with longer reloads etc.).

When the optimisation gets fixed, mods come out and fix what segments of the community thinks needs fixing and a couple of free weekends later it will pick up. That's what I figure anyway, a lot of people are just waiting for the game to get more polished now anyhow.

I think alot has to do with the stats fix ... I for one am not really interested in playing unless their is a stat fix and wipe ... ya sure its fun to play but their is a bit of a sense of accomplishment when you do well and see your stats go up ... but not in its current state.

IMO this game rocks!

Right now I just become frustrated when I play it, and I still hate having to unlock stuff which drives me insane. I'll try again after a few patches I think.

I hope too that people would come back to the game when the biggest problems of the game are fixed. In the beginning there were some good nordic servers with low pings, where we had lots of fun and some pretty good teamwork.

Now these people are mostly gone, and those servers are usually empty, or filled with run' n gun mkb "L337 PrOg4merX"'s, and the chat is used only to tell "lol pwnd u noob"

That's why I'm also waiting in the background for patches/mods to save the day, and when that happens Im gonna start playing again. A lot.

After playing some of the Battlefield 3 beta, I'm pretty confident this game is going to be around a while. Things like mounting MGs on the ground just feel and work so much better. The maps are vastly more open, very few narrow choke points.

I dunno it's hard to really state how much different this game is from all the other major shooters out or coming down the pipeline, I think you'll see a pretty strong numbers helped out by games like Battlefield 3. It's a great complementary game, it really does do what it does better.

Just... the launch was really rough and it's hard for the community to get behind it the way it is. It's almost like you don't want to recommend people to get it just because you know they'll have a bad experience.

It'll pick back up, but I ain't gonna be playing it until my stats are fixed and my framerate issues are 100% resolved.

I will play RO2 again when they fix some of the major bugs that have been around since the the beta. I think a lot of old school RO1 players will also come back if Tripwire makes the "realism" setting truly realistic.

They are? I see two Aussie servers full at the moment, and this is at 10:37pm NZ time on a Friday night. I've never seen more servers or had any harder time getting on to them since the beta. There are others that are empty, but last night they were full too. It took half an hour before a slot opened up on a server that had less than 200 ping for me.

How is it that I was finding it hard to get on a server last night, but so many people are complaining that they are all empty?

i dont care about my stats normally, but when they are tied to unlocks and straight up buffs to your character, then I care alot.

Tripwire didnt just shoot themselves inthe foot, they shot themselves in the groin

Yeah it will pick up again, the competition isn't really that good, and word of mouth hasn't spread to allot of gun enthusiasts yet lol Once the stats are working it will be kick ***, it still adds allot of features people are amazed by that don't know the game. :p

most of this depends on what dice do to fix their game. as it stands, they have heaps of landsharking problems (and funny ones like the nope.avi bug) and the mg deployment is fiddly like ro1 - I wonder if they have tried asking tripwire about using their deployment code

Once the bugs are ironed out and the BF3 beta is gone it will pick up again. People are waiting for stats / reduced crashes. There's also mods / DLC / SDK being released for new maps  They'll have weekend passes and steam sales.

This game won't die for years.

As much as I want to see this game succeed, I doubt it will really pick back up even if they fix all the bugs and performance issues. There are just way too many amazing games coming out this 2011 holiday season.

much as anyone else loves the game, I do too, love the feel and WW2 and everything minus the bugs and common etc etc etc...

but picking up again? No, it dropped another 2.5k players within past week. Again, Steam stats do not lie folks.

Even with patches, doubt it, too many new releases coming up, and RO2 is too late to the station.

Last RO2 patch was a while ago as well, wth ?
even Train Sim 2012 is updating more than RO2... and thats sad.
