Given how common the Mk(b) still is, it might be wise to give sovjet assaults drum magazine's and select-fire straight up for their ppsh's to even the playing field out a bit. In general, I think it might be good if weapons were rebalanced so that additional weapon levels give only largely cosmetic changes instead of actual stats changes, I believe this would help balancing several weapons enormously AND would ease the frustrations of new players facing veterans of untold hours of gameplay.

Sorry but that wouldn't work seeing as some of the weapons are unrealistically uncontrollable at low experience lvls. One example would be the lvl 0 Mkb42, which has an amount of recoil that would simulate someone who'ed never fired an automatic weapon before trying to shoot it. At lvl 50 however you instead have a realistic amount of recoil for the weapon.

Personally I like the experience system and how it affects how well your character handles recoil, reload and weapon sway.

That having been said, the amount of sway after sprinting should be increased IMO.

You do realize that if weapons are rebalanced then that means that their recoil might be looked into too? It just shouldn't be so level dependent imho, if at all.

I think there was no reason at all to "balance" the PPSH vs the MP40 by locking the standard issue drum magazine and exagerating its recoil.

The DP-28 is obviously garbage as opposed to the MG34, so why didn't Tripwire "balance" it as well?

They didn't exaggerate the recoil, they just made us all start out as green recruits who obviously, judging by how poorly they handle the recoil, have little experience firing a weapon.

Trust me, once you level up to 30 or more with the PPSh41, it starts having close to no recoil. So the base recoil for that weapon is fine, which is not what can be said for other weapons such as the Mkb42 whose recoil is too strong atm.

Balancing the weapons is not needed. Make them realistic and it will balance out rather well.

The first thing that needs to be fixed is the PPSH-41. Right now it has the stopping power of an airsoft gun and the recoil of an elephant gun. Lower the recoil and make it take only 4-5 rounds to kill someone rather than the 10-12 it requires now.

Shoots the same round as the TT33, so go try out your theory about the 10-12 rounds to kill someone and report back how wrong you were afterwards.

Also if anyone thinks that gun has any significant recoil after lvl 30, then they're expecting it to be a laser gun and it would be a good idea to try the real thing out.

Shooting the PPSh is a joy compared to what it was in ROOST :p Don't know why you complain about the recoil, I think it's quite easy to handle even though I'm at lvl 0 with it. And 10-12 bursts to kill one enemy? lol...?!

Btw, why can't you select semi-auto mode with the Pa-Pa? Possible in real life, so why not? Given its poor stopping power it would be very useful when you use the small box magazine!

See no reason to have the box mag as standard issue, even though I guess there's nothing we can do to change that. Assymetrical balance, as in the last game - the Germans get the better MGs, so the Russkies get the better SMG!

Due to "awesome" recoil of PPSh and low damage of SMGs (MP40 might have this problem too) it often happens that your enemy kills you despite being wounded several times. It would be nice to see enemy aim thrown off when you hit him allowing (non Mkb) SMG user to finish off the enemy. While it wont make SMGs more lethal, it will make it more usefull at fighting at short-medium distances against semi-auto rifle guys. It wont effect Mkb and rifles as much as these weapons are deadly.

After all SMGs were supposed to allow troops to suppress (which it lacks due to the "fearless solder" nature of the game and poor suppression effect) enemy while charging the trenches. Well, I'd be suppressed for sure if I was charged by soviets troops spraying my trench with a dozen PPShs at close range (thats when blind fire should be used, to suppress charging enemies if possible. We dont see it in game for a reseaon (it being useless)).

Are we playing the same game?
Or did they enable controller support?

PPSH is fine. MP40 is fine. SMGs are deadly you're just apparently unable to use them properly.

the MP40 has a bit to much range against other non SMG players

The hugest imbalance is still MG34 vs DP28 And T34 vs PZIV and M24 grenade vs F1

And ofcourse the noob MKB42.

If they want a historical balance between the 2 MG's, then they also need to make the PPSH much better then MP40.

Using the "Green recruits" as an excuse is bullocks. A typical "Historical accuracy and balance reasons" in favour of the germans and in disfavour for the russians, just like with most WW2 games
