Backed as well :)

Should we create a new thread? I would hate for people to pass over the news thinking it is another small update. :p

Going to back it soon myself. Keep spreading the word, post on forums, tell your gaming friends, get on Reddit and whatever else you can do to get more backers. :)

Definitely backed. Maybe a mod can change the title so that people know it's now on Kickstarter?

Something like "Realistic classic tactical shooter Ground Branch on Kickstarter" or something along those lines.

That would be a good idea.

uagh i have no credit card.

Where do you live? In most countries you can buy a pre-paid "creditcard" (don't know the official name), so you buy one worth of x amount of $ and then you throw it away (I believe). In holland for example we have https://www.3vcard.nl/

Most other countries also have a way to do this. Not sure what it's called officially. But the options are certainly there.

Here (USA) we have pre-paid Visa gift cards (though $6 activation fee). But it works everywhere a credit card would. I know in Europe there is one of these "gift cards" that do not have fees, though I am not sure who they are from.

I've also seen Amazon cards; Kickstarter goes through Amazon payments so those might work. I believe these do not have any activation fees.

I love when in virtually every "realistic" game NVGs give you such gross tunnel vision it makes you wonder if you turned blind in the first place. I hope they can find more sufficient compromise between reduced vision and blatant tunnel vision later in the developement. :p

Edit: I am perfectly aware how NVGs\optics create bit of a tunnel vision but I draw a line between realistic\plausible tunnel vision where you still have a good idea where you are going at\are at vs seeing 20x20 pixels and being practically blind unless you rave your head around like someone on speed just to have a clue where you are exactly at.

It might not be perfect but it is probably done better in GB than any other game to date.

A2 did quite goob job with it IMHO. You have broad enough vision to at least see reasonably in the general direction you are looking at while the rest of the screen is blocked.

Fair enough, I am just saying that it doesn't look so bad compared to other games. The fact that there is an animation/delay to putting it on is why I said it is more realistic than most games.

Backed.

Anybody familiar with Kickstarter statistics? Is Ground Branch underperforming so far or following the average?

I was going to post a reddit link about it but looks like its already been posted multiple times to little fanfare. I really wish this would pick up steam.

This is rather low. Takedown managed to get $70,000 or so in its last 24 hours, though that was only a $225,000 goal.

Typically, zombie games and whatnot tend to get their funding halfway through.

It has been up 10 days with barely $40,000 made. I am not say they will not make it, though I am not optimistic for the $700,000 co-op/SP level being reached. Which is what I am mainly looking forward to.

As for what you can do to help, create threads, tell friends, and keep posting in the following threads:

As mentioned, reach out to other communities as well.

I'm looking forward to this as this has proper realism not the "taticore" stuff that you see sometimes like being able to jump, being able to change weapons within a couple of seconds, customizable gear with an inventory that makes sense, proper weapon collision, no fake balancing and being able to shoot whilst you are on the move, sounds awesome...
