Before i begin i'd like to say i Loved the original RO and i played it for years. now then, on with the show

#1: PLAYER BODY
I was EXTREAMLY dissipointed to find that in this "realistic" game..... i STILL DON'T HAVE FEET/a body

I can NOT fathem why this wasnt added into ro2, i mean SERIOUSLY? i don't know about you, but in MY reality when i look down.... i see my body.... i'm not just floating arms. how can you call not haveing a body realistic? This SAPPED the realism COMPLEATLY out of the game.

#2: MORE CHOICE FOR FIELD OF VIEW
i whould Kindly suggest adding the ability to Increase the FOV even futher then it is..... the Whole feel of the view, and with how Crunched up and bunched up everything is makes the game feel Extreamly unrealistic and extreamly Arcade like.

#3: WEAPON JAMMING
i recall reading that WEAPON JAMMING was going to be in RO2.... and... it's not... All of these people crying out that the STG44 and other fully auto weapons are unbalanced... well this is why. in REALITY fully auto weapons Like the PPSH jam quite a lot. expecially in the Crappy conditions those soldiers whould have (unintentionlly) had them in.

#4: BULLET SPREAD
NO BULLET SPREAD?!?!? WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT how can you call a game realistic when all the weapons are Freak'in LAZERS. Nuf-said.... needs to be fixed.

#5: BAYONET FIXING
i can No longer choose to fix/unfix my Bayonet?!?!?!??!?!?! WHAT THE HELL? do you people have ANY idea how much haveing a 7-8 pound knife on the end of your rifle will affect your aim? but in this game it has NO EFFECT?!?!?! YOU'D TAKE IT OFF FOR SHOOTING. REALISM

#6: LOCAL HOSTING
Just..... why..... WHY was this removed? i don't get it... and it's so extreamly dissipointing i'm at a loss of words on this one.

Over all i am extreamly dissipointed in the so called "realism" of this game. I see a Graphical overhaul, coversystem and a command system... other then that... it's Nothing new from the original game, and infact has lost some of it's best features.

Pretty Grahpics are NOT what i (and i'm fairly damn sure a lot of other people) want in a game. I chouldnt care if the game didn't look any better then the origininal RO. GRAPHICS ARE IRRELIVENT. You Guys were suppose to make a REALISTIC ww2 shooter and the only thing you did was add a coversystem..... woop de do.

this game like all others is following in the "popular" foot steps of other crappy unrealistic shooters such as COD and the Battlefield Seriers. and i can simply NOT express how extreamly dissipointed i am in the game, and the TEAM for aparantly not understanding what is "realistic"

Discussed to death. Sure would be a great feature, if the jamming was up to player himself (dragging gun in mud etc.). But as a random feature, no way.

I agree with fixing/unfixing as an option.

But seriously, m/91-30 bayonet weights something like 1 pounds, less than 2 anyways (can

I admit my numbers were exaggerated but the effect of an attached bayonet on a rifle are aparent in reality.

I personally have fired a KAR98 with and with the bayonet attached and keeping the sights on target is much harder with the bayonet attached.

Now mind you, i'm not saying the effect is HUGE and with some practice i'm sure a good marksmen whould over come the effects... but to be "Realistic" the effects are there... and realism is all i'm asking for.

I own a K98k BYF manufactured, with my bayonet on the end and without. Flat out, over 75m, it utterly sucks to have a bayonet on the end of that gun. It makes it noticeably front-heavy and tires your arms out more than you would think. Which means, after firing a roughly twenty rounds, and holding it without a sling or rested on anything, your arms are tired.

But as of right now, in-game, there is no effect for having it attached. There's nothing that really affects sway at all involved with human manipulation (morale, weather, explosions, training, etc.) which is rather odd that the dev's of ROOST would overlook. If they don't adjust the accuracy in this game, I think I'll be playing mods entirely when they eventually come out. Right now it's just absurd, but I digress.

More people need to agree, so as to actually get tripwire to pay attention. at this point i don't really think they care.

But my hope is that Enough people will Truely want a REALISTIC game, and some great man/team will make a mod for this.

as the game currently stands, it's is no where near realistic. the combat is FAR to fast paced and aiming and nailing a target at long rang is extreamly easy with a rifle.... and extreamly easy with an SMG.... this aspect needs to be fixed before this game will ever be anywhere near realistic.

And to offer another # in my list

#7: ADJUSTING SIGHTS
while this is a cool and inovative feature, as it stands they serve NO PURPOSE. I've played the game for DAYS now and have NEVER needed to adjust my sights to hit my target. NEVER not ONCE. and i think the key fact is that you're never engageing the enemy at long enough ranges for it to matter.

uh... rant is fail. i mean are you trolling or are you actually serious?

jamming-apparently its in despite me hearing otherwise. basically if you reload to many close to full clips you get a chance of jamming.

however all this stuff as been discussed or is just ill informed on your part.

What happened to that map temperature feature? Is that implemented or not? I dont see any info on that when in game? I also agree with laser bullets, its just to easy to kill a person, campers always have advantage.

How can you consider real life elements that truely affect combat Trolling? are YOU serious?

anyone who thinks this game 'as is' is realistic has obviously never fired a weapon in their lives

If every soldier in the russian and german armys were super soldiers with Robotic arms like in this game... the death toll of ww2 whould have been 10x

To be honest. Who gives a flying ****? Stop staring at the floor and go shoot some Bolsheviks.

I agree that jamming should be added but you seriously have no idea what your talking about. Not all fully autos jammed a lot just because its fully auto. The PPSh was actually very reliable compared to the MP40 and thats why the Germans took so many PPShs.

#4: BULLET SPREAD
NO BULLET SPREAD?!?!? WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT how can you call a game realistic when all the weapons are Freak'in LAZERS. Nuf-said.... needs to be fixed.

Agreed.

I own a Yugo m48 (a k98 variant), and it truly does suck to have bayonet on the end of that thing.

NOt only due to the weight, but also the lack of accuracy. When engaging targets 100-125m+ ther is s noticable lack of consistent accuracy. THe reason being that the expansion of gasses from the muzzle strike the bayonet, then bounce back and hit the bullet as its exiting.

That couple with pressure differential, cause the bullet to leave the barrel with a slight wobble.

Changing FOV is realistic????? Yeh let me just flip this switch on my head so my eyes move abit back. What the **** are you talking about?

He means the current FOV is too narrow thus making it less realistic. He doesnt mean change it at whim while in game.

Jesus, use you're f***ing brain...

Though agree that i'm not sure what he's talking about as you can change fov in the ini

Where as i admit only really 2 of the ones i posted are truely for realism, the Body, and FOV are mearly aesthetic features to increase the immersion of the game.

And Local hosting is just something that SHOULD be in the game, and there is absolutely NO reason it shouldnt be. other then Failure on the part of the Dev team.

And increaseing FOV is not "pulling your eyes back" Have you EVER held a rifle in your entire Life and aimed down the sights? it dose NOT appear to the human eye that the sight MAGICALLY get closer to your eye.... this is unrealistic and Stupid and needs to be fixed.

Overly exaggerated bullet spread wouldn't be realistic unless you fight in tornado.. bullets should go pretty much where you point the gun with ballistics in play.

Or maybe most people think your problems are minor and aren't going to support someone who writes their thread like that.

I'm not *****ing about anything, i'm pointing out obvious things.

I seriously can't believe more people don't agree

Lets get one thing straight, i DO like the game. it is what it is. but it is NOT realistic. This game has become nothing more then COD with a coversystem and adjustible sights.

The only people who think this game is realistic have obviously never fired a weapon in their lives.

Red Orchestra 2 Promised to be an in-depth and realistic game, and has obviously failed to be such.

I agree that jamming should be added but you seriously have no idea what your talking about. Not all fully autos jammed a lot just because its fully auto. The PPSh was actually very reliable compared to the MP40 and thats why the Germans took so many PPShs.

PPSHs were well known for their poor conception. Many of them were "accidently discharging" when hitting the ground or a wall.
The only reason why the Germans prefered the PPSh is the unbeatable volume of fire this SMG can delivrer, a truly appreciated feature in urban CQC.

Jamming was a common issue with the MP40 (due to the incredibly bad conception of the magazine), AND PPSh.
