Server Ranked servers. How it will work?

This means that all servers need to do an application like RO2?

Or maybe non-ranked server is displayed when in that game a non-white listed map is loaded or the server has non-white listed mutators running?

Confirmed. Good news

Ranking:
- Ranked server hosting will be open to everyone GSPs, clans, individuals,
anyone with the right machine specs and a good enough internet connection.
- There is no ranked server list, anyone can just put a server up and it
will be ranked.
- The only things that will unrank a server will be running non-whitelisted
code mods/mutators. It is our plan to be pretty lenient with this, as we
want to encourage adoption of user generated content and mods.

CPU specs listing a Intel E3 1270 @ 3.4GHZ... Wonder how well it would run on an Opteron 4334 @ 3.1GHz... Or an Intel avaton (lol indeed if you can rock kf2 servers on an anemic chip like that.) What isn't said is how many cores the server is using.


Ram usage seems alright to me but anything they can do to kill overhead is a welcome investment.

Servers should ideally be bound to one core/thread anyway. Context switching is too expensive. Servers only have one heavyweight thread, no real loss here.

Maps will not at this time. Mutators will.
