+1 for this. Luckily I'm surrounded by dice so I've been using one of those but an actual autoselect would be tops.

A definite yes to this, I am sort of biased towards joining the allies as I noticed people tend to stack on axis but even I think having an "Auto-select" text button between the two team logos would be a great addition.

There is no team scramble. I guess I get it. People like Russia or Germany, but no team scramble in a Multiplayer FPS creates a HUGE team stacking problem.

p.s. You're right! People DO stack on Axis! All the time! Its vexing!

they stack to axis because mp40 > ppsh (ingame)

Actually, I'm guessing they do so because Germans are generally percieved as the cooler faction.

Hard as it is to believe for some people, not all players are trying to min/max, but rather try to have some fun. I myself prefer Germans as well, just because I prefer their "feel". And you have to admit they have a very good sense of fashion! I couldn't care less about a German weapon being potentially better or worse.

A good example of this effect can be seen in World of Tanks actually. The German tanks are generally seen as disadvantaged, yet most players still play with German tanks. They're awesome, that's why.

Agree. Most ppl I know tend to play German if they have to choose between Germans and Russians. It's a bit less so in Western Theatre but also there Germans seem to be favoured.
I also noticed this in Reenactment. Even in Eastern Europe there are lots of Wehrmacht/SS Reenactors. You hardly find any Soviets in Western Europe... don't know why though. I don't think it has something to do with "fashion" but rather playing the "dark side".
