You can never make everyone happy. Luckily for the people that wanted RO1, installing Heroes doesn't remove Ost from your HD.

I hate to get sidetracked, but a bigger problem is the ridiculous downvoting on these forums.

I agree Heroes of Stalingrad is not Red Orchestra 1 it is Red Orchestra 2 and has been refined and retooled and remapped. It will play similar to the first but not the same, I expected as much and I love the changes I think its far more superior to RO1.

No one is forcing you to play RO2 the game is made and done and will be shipping soon and little to no major changes will be made, it's fine the way it is. Insulting this game is insulting to TW and all the hard work they put into this game, if this isn't hardcore enough for you then I suggest you go back to playing RO1 and 24/7 Danzig servers, have fun.

I'll be playing RO2 :)

This gets down-voted.

I agree with the OP. Everything is fine as it is, just needs some bug fixing.

This gets down-voted. How?!?

The OP is often compared to styrofoam and rocks when considering his level of intelligence.

And this, comparing the OP's brainpower to that of foam, is not.

It's a fair world.

Oh I played RO1 in beta stages combined arms and when it was a free mod back in the day and people STILL complained and it was a damn free game, I knew for a fact that (people who call themselves fans) would complain.

But for the majority of us we feel it is enough of a difference and also a good thing that the game feel's different yet close to the original, changes will always effect people but they will get used to them TW just ignore all the babies us real old school players are not 13 year old boys and we except the changes.

STOP CRYING people geeze

Yeah I would rather you could only "like" without "disliking", or nothing at all. If you have controversial opinions you will end up with negative rep here..if people agree with everything you say then you're "nice". It just discourages discussion and differing opinions imo

The OPs thread had a title containing the phrases "rage thread," and "please read." lol

Run and sprint are different , you should have problems aiming after you just sprinted like a mad man across a field with bullets flying by.

I think that between the relaxed realism, Hardcore and custom gamemodes, there should be room for people that want different things. I just hope TWI gives us the option.

This ^^

Yes that's exactly it. People might not say something "different" for fear of their bar turning red.

There's only a solution:

we have 2 game modes : relaxed and hardcore......so why not implement all the stuff that RO1 players (like me) want and let the relaxed as it is?

it's so easy lol

So the beta is relaxed realism right now?
I dont have a problem at all it feels right in the close quarter battles and less clunky than Ro1.

what is becoming extremely annoying is the "veterans" bashing all new players as COD fanboys and the same the other way around.
This has to stop!

I completely agree. Some of the hardcore people were complaining about the "beta moaners" a week ago, but now the hot topic with a few of them is how unrealistic the game seems to them, which is ironically just as annoying.

Many of the people complaining about the realism have probably never handled an action weapon before, much less a K98 or Mosin. At some point realism has to be sacrificed for playability. And I still think RO2 is far on the side of realism.

Being a CoD player seems like the ultimate attack on here, but I would venture to say 95% of us have probably enjoyed a few hours of CoD in the not-so-distant past.

The point that OP is trying to make is that he wants to play Red Orchestra 2, not Red Orchestra 1 v2.0. I for one bought Red Orchestra 2 to play Red Orchestra 2.

Trying to argue Gameplay over Realism?

You'll be slaughtered by the RO fans. As much as it may make sense, a lot of people favour realism.

Which is why I say all of the above should be added, but when you get suppressed fully, your soldier should soil themselves and you have to waddle to the nearest hole to empty your freshly soiled trousers. Not to mention if you die, thats it, you cannot play the game again. If you get wounded, you are evacuated to a field hospital where you will spend the next few months (real time). You will also have to eat and drink, yet watch out, you could eat some bad food and die! There is also a realistic mourning system, so if a fellow soldier gets blown to pieces, your character will curl up and cry about it for a short time and you will be haunted by their face perminantly.

On to the side specific details. On maps that are further into Russia, German soldiers have the chance to freeze to death, this is increased when pulling down ones trousers to go to the toilet. The Russians will not suffer from this as much. German tanks will also have less fuel supplies. Russians will have a large reinforcement counter, yet only half the team have guns, the over half have the ammo. They will also be encouraged to run at German machine guns.

So now I ask you, is super realism a fantastic idea?

Don't be a douche. I don't think anyone in these debates are taking things that seriously. You would have gotten comedy points if this rant of yours hadn't been done hundreds of times before.

Realism mode for Rising Storm.
Get shot during a beach landing in Okinawa, get shipped to a local hospital where you'll be out of action for the next few months. You go home to your lovely wife who had been working in a factory making bullets until then, when she tells you she's too independant for a man like you, divorces you and leaves you single and depressed. And then PTSD kicks in and you spend the remainder of your life afraid of loud noises and Japanese people.
Doesn't super realism sound just keen?

^ Implying I was being serious.

But yes its a common point, because its a good point!
Im just glad Tripwire didn't go overboard on the realism, the current realism is pretty fantastic, would have liked to maybe see limping when shot in the leg or something but still it works well for gameplay mechanics.

EDIT: Nacho, I love not only you, but your sig aswell.
