I really don't like instant rag doll when people get shot.
People flinch when getting shot,
Yes even when getting shot in the head ladies and gents.

The best i have seen was in Hidden & Dangerous 2 and in Brothers In Arms: Hells Highway...

In brothers in arms hells highway it looked like the gun was a seperate "ragdoll" itself. when u shot at the Germans, they woulndt just fall down and drop theyre gun, they got a little springiness and sometimes the gun would go flying in random directions (in a good way) when they got shot, not just immediately down

I hope not, as this would mean CoD style where soldiers who received a headshot still got power to crawl some centimeters :D

people have been shot in the head and kept on living with headache thinking it was migrane for years and then discover that they have a piece of lead stuck in the center of there brain. though ussually you will die. :D

Looks like the same thing which also used in last GTA game.

I've just been playing GTA IV and I think that the ragdolls in GTA aren't quite as refined as the video but both are rather impressive. However I don't think RO2 needs ragdolls this good. The reason GTA IV and that game with the rabbit thing (looked rather wierd and funny to me) have such good ragdolls is because they need them because they're 3rd person games and there will be many times when the player will see themselves being knocked around. In first person games you will never see yourself like this and you most likely wont be focussing on other players and scrutinising the way they fall. So I think aslong as what TWI does works, I'll be happy.:D

Throwing the grenade is the means, the grenade exploding and killing someone is the ends, that person being thrown into a wall is just eyecandy more than anything.

I can see what some of you are talking about in the trailer video when the germans get shot down by the mg, it does seem a bit awkward.

But, looking at all the ingame footage the death animation/ragdoll seems to flow together really well.

I just trust that Tripwire know what they are doing while taking advantage of the new tech.

By a rifle bullet? Sorry but that's impossible, seeing as being hit in the head by a rifle bullet usually leaves a very big mess = exploding watermelons comes to mind. Heck even a simple 9mm will leave a hole impossible to overlook, even at extreme ranges.

Only incident I've heard of where a person had a projectile fired into his head without it being realized rather quickly is a story of a carpenter who accidently shot himself with a nail gun. The following weeks he had some terrible headaches without knowing why, until he went for his annual check at this dentist that is, who discovered a nail lodged in the roof of his mouth, having penetrated a good way into his brain cavity. Fortunately for the guy the nail by some miracle completely missed the brain, having driven itself inside the narrow space in between the left & right frontal lobe of the brain.

These people are not getting hit:
a) at point blank
b) directly to the head (the bullet normally grazes or is a ricochet)
c) by a large caliber

The only cases I have heard are people getting shot in the face by shotguns, they have a higher chance of survival (1 in a hundred thousand) than someone getting hit by a rifle round (1 in several million)

nevertheless, these are SMALL odds and not really necessary to be considered.

On a serious note I'm not sure how to describe my feelings about that other than it's really sad.

Keeping on the headshot topic do you think that (in the game not real life) you would be able to take a grazing or simlarly not direct headshot only to have you helmet shot off, similar to the headshot system in men of war.
