In my opinion the US forces shouldnt have any static radio positions and should have to use Radiomen to call in any support.. almost every game i play the commander just sits infront of the radio the entire game and is never on the front line where his actions and decisions to call in support would be far more effective, also the radioman class is almost always unused as its pointless without the commander who wants to use it..

why not just force the US to have to use a radioman instead of giving them both options? i understand the NVA having statics radio's obviously it makes sense..

your guys opinions?

the problem with this is that the radiomen can troll or just be plain ignorant and not know that they're suppose to stick with the commander unless he says otherwise. yes you could kick him from his role, but i've been in plenty of games where it took 3+ attempts to just vote kick TKers. besides i don't think there's any real benefit for the U.S. Commander to be on the frontlines anyway. i also dont think he has any thing like the ambush ability the NLF Commander has, right? so i think it's fine the way it is honestly.

Besides when radiomen and actually following the commander for 30-40min, the game is pretty boring as you spend your time hiding in the bushes and only move up to the next objective when it's cleared usually. You can't spot for the commander and you can't really shoot as you might blow you commanders cover. So you just sit there and wait for things to happen.
At least that has been my experience.

Bad idea for a few reasons. First of all, being commander is already a boring passive job, why bother dragging 2 more players into the mix? Second of all, putting your commander on the frontlines is a bad idea, considering that he needs to be alive in order to receive recon plane data and to communicate with squad leaders. Third of all, a lot of RO2/RS1 veterans including myself tend to use the radioman class as a valuable alternative for the squad leader class from RO2/RS1, since the radioman gets two smokes and is basically a rifleman with smokes instead of frags.

I think the radioman idea could balance the fact that US can call arty, napalm and Spooky support and has choppers on some maps that are pretty much invincible unless you gave a great dshka gunner or rocket user.

Correction, being the VC commander is a boring job. The US commander is much more fun to play as you have more tools at your disposal, and you need a good commander on attack.

Yeah I love US commander, my k/d for that class is 203, which is quite something when compared to my overall k/d of 0.38. It's one of the most satisfying feelings in this game to see the kill-feed spammed with deaths caused by a single napalm.

I can't really get into VC commander, however. Ambush deployment can be fun sometimes, but that's about it.
