radeon 6870 issues

Hi,
I was playing my copy of RO2 on my 5770 last week and it was running pretty well. 30-35FPS with all graphics on high at 1920x1080.
Today i bought a 6870, installed the latest drivers and my frame rate DROPPED to a constant 10-15FPS, making the bta unplayable. I don't knwo if there is a card specific problem here, i assume there is because nothing else in my system has changed. Just thought i would let u guys know.

Great job on the game BTW it rocks, and its still in BETA.

hey jock, i got that card and had some slow down after latest patch.

hopefully some new drivers will be out soon

Its not the card,its the new patch,I have 6870 and before the new maps were released i was having descent FPS,now I just drop playing the beta and trying to figure things out to make it better.

delete config and reconfigure, same card here.

i have ATI mobility radeon HD 5870 i could run the game on ultra without many problems but now i play on high with 10 fps any tips

I dunno, I get a few erratic crashes and the performance could have been better considering the low-fidelity graphics, but I get 45-80 FPS with my 6870 on high except shadows and lighting which are medium. Textures and detail ultra.
FOV 85, bloom on. Vsync off.

i'm thinking of getting this card so can you guys update it's performance when the game's released, or the beta performance is improved?

I presume it will be as good as just about anything else though, with CPU being a bottleneck once you get a card this capable;
but i am interested how it compares with it's competitor the 560/ti

Maybe you can but only with a laptops gfx card at least I think those gfx cards arent onboard chips but I might be wrong.
(They sure dont perform as well as regular ones)

yeah but its not worth the effort, or the headaches, much easier and probably cheaper to get a desktop.
