Who needs a Gallows in Stalingrad, There is death around every corner! :D

I think the playground is to show how the city was still "Alive" even with all the fighting.

I think the playground is to show how the city was still "Alive" even with all the fighting.

Or maybe a haunting reminder of what the city used to be, a little like seeing the funfair and schools in Chernobyl today.

But a lack of hanging space? Major K

I am discussing with my friend that keeps telling me that RO2's Danzig ( Apartments ) got a totally different achitectonic style from RO1's Danzig.

Is this true ? I' m going to screen some differences from the original game and that video (video removed for quote) , and, a part some comunist propaganda and totally different weather ( i preferred one in RO1 ) cant really see differences.

Can some Devs post some historical picture o some researches to confirm that RO2's one is way more realistic than RO1's one or vice versa ?

The RO2 one will be different from RO1's Danzig, but just for some useless information, RO1's Danzig map is different from RO:CA's Danzig.

The Combined Arms Danzig was almost identical to Ostfront's Danzig, but there were a few areas in the German's side for some snipers and MG's to hold back a distance to cover the Monument objective (name changed in RO1) which don't exist anymore in the RO1 Danzig, the Russians could only cross over the two bridges and there were no alternative ways to get to the first caps, so it was a bit of a bottle neck. It made it easier for the Germans to Defend, however it usually resulted in a nade-fest spam battle....... and in the RO1 Danzig, there were a few extra buildings & windows for sniping and MG support surrounding the last two cap zones.

With all the talk of Konigsplatz and Apartments, I just wanted to say that the 1:1 scale, meticulously researched, beautifully recreated, historically accurate maps are going to be perhaps my favorite feature of Red Orchestra 2.

No screenshots of a multiplayer map in a video game have ever sent chills down my spine the way the pics of Konigsplatz in Ostfront did, and the images of Heroes of Stalingrad's maps have gone far and beyond that. When I compared the research team's reference photographs of the Grain Elevator to the alpha map screenshots, I found myself imagining day and night in those cramped rooms, shellfire pounding the walls, dust and smoke filling the corridors, bitter thirst biting at my throat, and a red fiery glow emanating from every window.

Beautiful effort, research, and attention to detail. May Tripwire win all the relevant awards for level design for such great work!
