When these random character voice audio clips play, i.e. "All it takes is one mistake" when you're on the axis side, can the enemy team hear this? I'm almost positive you are able to hear your teammates voice clips but if the enemy can hear them too that's pretty ****ed up.

Wellll...just think about it. Let's say you're hiding in a corner quietly and your character decides to randomly start talking aloud to himself, thus giving away your position to any nearby enemies in a manner that is seemingly completely out of your control.

Well that is why there is an option to turn it off in the audio options. Never looked in there right ? :p

Like the poster above me says

And I will include this:

There is a fancy search button on this forum...use it when you need to find something.

Yeah I did use search tough guy. And in the few threads I found there was no real answer. So unless you know, get off your high horse and stop trying to act like a moderator.

There's a "Minimal" setting, which relative to the other settings is an accurate name but IMHO it's still an awful lot of talking to oneself. :D

But the question still remains as to whether the enemy can hear your chatter and not just you and your team mates. I haven't been able to find any information indicating one way or the other.

After playing the game a fair bit you character only speaks when close to a team mate, reloading or even the team "morale" is low. For example when I was doing some sniping with the G41 on apartments next to team mates he would say "I don't know if I got him" when I winged a Russian but when I was storming them with my PPSH he did not say a word until the mag went dry infront of a German...

Can anyone confirm this?

One time me and few friends were sneaking through a building (all of us were crouched), and my character instead of screaming at the top of his lungs actually whispered.

He said something like, "Be careful, i dont have a good feeling" but whispering.

Is this a coincidence or is it actually dynamic?

It's all dynamic and yes enemies can hear it, but for a russian if a german talk he will hear german not english and vice-versa. I think it gives some good feeling when in a building with teamates fighting germans when you hear the 2 languages. It's a really neat feature. When you're alone your guy doesn't talk to himself.

I think a good compromise would be to stop the dynamic chat when you are crouching or not moving, when you are trying to be stealthy in a building you always crouch or you don't move.

I don't think enemy can hear them. I don't think I have ever heard enemy say anything but "grenade" and dying sounds, not even sure on the "grenade".

My father-in-law once told me about himself and a comrade of his. They were on some sort of perimeter duty/patrol on the eastern front (he was in a German unit). It was pitch black out and they were trying to move quietly and cautiously when his friend stepped into a hole and fell awkwardly. His friend let out a stream of swear words. Now depite being in a German unit, his friend was bilingual, speaking both German and Russian. He swearing was all in Russian...

And out of the dark, about 10 meters away, a Russian voice in dark told them to be careful and be quiet!

Needless to say, they shut up fast and as calmly and quietly as they could headed back to their own lines! He ended his story by saying that the Russian position they'd stumbled on was later dealt with while it was still dark.

So, now and again it happens. Soldiers will speak out even when they meant to be quiet! :)

It may be neat and may be somewhat "realistic", but being able to hear randomly triggered enemy voice chatter (i'm not talking about shouting "grenade" or yelling when you're hit) that effectively gives away your position has no place in a competitive FPS (if this is indeed the case).
