Ditch the whole progression system.

ALL PROBLEMS SOLVED.

+1 as well as the future of this game

Progression and leveling up my character isnt enough for me to get past the fact that the game just isnt fun for me... Most of the joylessness comes from core gameplay mechanics... not just the maps.

I really hope someone puts out a mutator that turns the game back to RO1 like gameplay. that would be fun

+1 as well as the future of this game

We already plan a mutator "whitelist" so to speak like we have with KF. Those that don't mess with core balance or try and do naughty things will get cleared.

Really?!

The "whitelist" was one of the greatest failings of KF. Remember you poor guys being so overloaded you tested KF maps on easy mode for the first few waves then said "yeah well this looks good"? Then remember people complaining about exploits on those maps and how the average time till it gets de-white listed was about six months to one year? Or the policy of trying to always add more maps then you took away ( even if there were lots that needed to be de whitelisted ), which I presume will transfer over to HOS.

Well I remember that, and it was facepalm worthy. Sure you can argue there will be less mutators than maps, but it still requires direct input which is a high time investment, and unless you actually read the code, things will slip through.

This is very good news. So long as people's 'realism' mutators are allowed to be on ranked servers I think that will solve 90% of the issues some vets have with the game. (At least those who are being honest, some people once they decide to hate something, for whatever reason, they refuse to ever change their mind.)
