I feel this tank needs some work, almost every shot just bounces off the T70 and T34, actually getting a hit feels like just a matter of luck. Was this tank really that bad? I was expecting it to be better with the L60 gun on it, was there not special anti tank rounds for it?

Anyway even if it is balanced historically in game it clearly is just not any fun being a PZIII driver, Gumrak anyone? :IS2: plink!

The 50mm gun made it possible to take on a T-34 but it still didn't give it an advantage over it. The T-70 is even worse when engaging a panzer 4.

The T-70 actually has similar armour to the T-34. Shoot at its rightside. So if it's facing you shoot the left. As that's where the engine is. You can damage its engine from the front.
