Less than a week from launch and I have seen no hands impressions or footage for the game from a review website. In addition, lack of media from the Tripwire themselves, no pictures or movies. Perhaps Tripwire should consider working on some of the aformentioned to help introduce Killing Floor to a potentially larger audience.

On an unrelated note KF has been knocked out of the top 3 sellers list on steam.

We're still working on the PR side of things. Don't worry, we're not done yet =)

And we only got knocked out of top 3 because of Defense Grid being such a great deal at present. Many of the devs here have bought it, because it's definitely worth the $5 price tag.

Things are still going very well for us, and there's more to come, just hang in there.

I'm quite happy to sit on my preorder and wait for release but the OP has made a very valid point. You need to spread the word guys, you can't make too much noise and right now, I can barely hear a whimper

Edit: Defence grid really is a fantastic diversion, so hands off until the 14th :p

Advertising is expensive. I would suggest putting in a call and/or sending a demo to Gamespy and those guys. That's essentially free publicity. (Just hope it's the kind of publicity you want!)

Adverts may be expensive, but taking some more screenshots and posting them on their own site is free ;)

That's not even close to advertising, or publicity. TW has put out the essentials so people can see the game and examples of it.

This isn't a dig at TW, but I think you guys are expecting AAA dev house rolls outs. They announced the game 2 weeks before retail. It shouldn't shock anyone that they don't have tons of media up and aren't on the radar of the major gaming sites.

Publicity, no, it wont spread the word, but don't underestimate the value of good screenies, for thouse that do find their way to the site, they can be the difference between them leaving again with "meh", or "looks interesting.." on their minds, and it's easilly done, taking some more screenies is not really a ton of work ;)

It can be if you have a small dev team and lots of stuff to finish before deadline. :p

Honestly, I don't think more SSs are really going to enhance sales in the ~6 days left to release. Post-release, that's a different story. About the only thing that is going to drum up interest in people who aren't already interested in the game is the attention of the major gaming sites. There's just not much time left for the "cool screen shot" effect to percolate down to more pre-orders. I think, anyways.

And bottomline, you guys are just bored and want something to tide you over til release. That's not really a pressing concern they need to deal with :p

Here's a suggestion to Tripwire. Hold a small contest. Get your testers to take some in game screenshots that they think are cool. Get them to send them in and then display the ones you think are cool. You guys don't have to waste time actually playing to get the cool screenshots. Just a suggestion.

=D

I don't see why there needs to be new media right now if the game is going to be released in a couple of days. Then you'll have reviews, videos, tons of new screenshots, etc. from players and reviewers. If you didn't already pre-order the game, you can just get the game a couple of days after release. And if you did pre-order, then I'm sure you already had enough faith in the game.
