You DON'T need to get out of the tank to deal with SMG armed infantry. They can't hurt you unless they get reaaaly lucky and pop a round through an open hatch.

However if you get out of the tank that SMG will do nicely to cut you in two. So- run them over, gun them down, whatever- just don't pop that hatch.

Grenades can damage and destroy your tank though, so watch out for them! I was surprised since I thought grenades weren't able to damage tanks, but twice now my T-60 has been destroyed by nades while weakened.

Hop in the machine-gunner position in tanks like the Tiger, Panther, Panzer IV etc. and mow them down or jump in commander spot on stuff like IS-2 in order to shoot them with the coaxial.

Can the tanks be destroyd by nades
Never happend to me, never have I seen it either... and if so, it should be fixed... unless u manage to throw it in through a open hatch

Grenades CANNOT destroy a tank. 10kg Satchel charges, PTRD rounds, and of course tanks can though. Like sultan said, the only way you can die from a grenade while inside a tank is if you have a hatch open.

A grenade does not have the force needed to hurt the engine or tracks. If you've witnessed it first hand(in the game of course), I suggest you go to the bugs forum and post about it there. Same for you hyperion.

Me too. My hatch was closed but I was still killed by a grenade (I was in the driver pos at the time, perhaps damage still goes through the viewport?).

A grenade shouldn't even scratch any of the tanks in the game.

Pyros, they can. I tried it on practice mode with god and allammo on. Enough nades can kill ANY tank. If your tank is already red and on fire because of hits, one grenade under its engine can kill it.

yeah, I've had a grenade or two end up under my IS-2 and damage the engine and drop me into the yellow range. If they're not supposed to be able to damage tanks, then this is something that needs to be worked on.
