PS3 Game Recommendations?

I'm returning home next month, and I'll be getting a Playstation 3 when I do. Right now I'm wondering which games should I get first? I can find games relatively cheap here in Germany(and from UK), so I'll grab what I can.

Right now I'm thinking of Killzone 2, Rock Band 2(got the set already) . . . and maybe Little Big Planet(though looks a bit boring to me). I already own and played MGS4(on my roommates PS3). I'm also interested in Bad Company and Uncharted if I can find them cheap. Any more suggestions from PS3 owners?

Uncharted should be cheap these days, so grab it. And uncharted 2 soon. I enjoy LBP alot as well. Valkria Chronicles is amazing in my opinion, check out the demo on the PSN. Also Rachet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction and the PSN continuation Quest for Booty are a must.

Speaking of PSN titles. Pick up Burout Paridise from there, along with some favorite PS 1 titles like FF 7 (for me) and MGS 1. The newly released Fat Princess is good multiplayer fun as well.

Also check out the new Batman, on the PS 3 there are some awesome bonus's such as the ability to play as the Joker.

Well that's my biggest motivation about PS3

Valkyria chronicles is pretty nifty and fun. Its a turnbased 3rd person strategy game, in a ww2 ish atmosphere.

Dont forget wipeoutHD (and its expansion) on the playstation store if you like that type of game, fat princess is pretty good, its aweful somtimes connecting to servers atm but a patch should be out soon.

Little Big Planet, is okayish but you can pick it up very cheap. Bad Company is good, though I think the sequal is out soon, but well worth a purchase anyway. Uncharted is supposed to be great, though Ive never played it myself, though I will probably pick it up soon.

oh ye..its "diffrent"...but if you are open to a "diffrent approach" in terms of esthetics.( and tbh the game mechanics are pretty standart for a action "rpg" ).thats the way to go. Good game but..as for afromentiond points..not for everyone.

Besides..thats is what i liked about the PS allways..it might not be up to par with the "big guns" but titels like ICO and REZ, ( ok it was dreamcast first but what the heck ) at least they seem to have a certain space to express diffrent ideas ( maybe even if the gameplay is dull like KILLER 7 ) and styles on that console.

I'd go with Killzone 2, Little Big Planet, and Valkyria Chronicles. Also buy Fat Princess on PSN!

I heard Resident Evil 1...the original PS1 classic...is back on the PSN I would buy that if I still had a PS3.

I tried to play RESI1 some time ago and just couldent get into it anymore..i constantly asked myself..how could i ever enjoy this way back..

I think its on the platinum series now but Metal Gear Solid 4 is thee game for me on the PS3 . . .

More importantly is the BluRay player it has!! . . . HD movies are awesome sauce.

Tried playing MGS4 again but I just couldnt get into it for some reason, really want to play it again grrr, still like the online mode, its weird not that great but still fun somehow.

<3 the Bluray player in the PS3 for more than just being a bluray player but that because it has almost no disc load time compared to some other players, GF parents have (a sony) one and it actually takes 4-5mins to load up.

Res1 has aged very badly, I found 2 & 3 are still as fun to play.

Well in my case I was only like 12-13 years old so it remains a classic for me.
I can't stand RE4 or RE5 so maybe that is the reason.
The Gamecube remake was amazing though.

Rak, hook your PSP up to your PS3, makes for awesome remote control.


Edit: LBP is quite fun. Also try mirrors edge for something different, good and cheap. Dont forget GTA4 as another good (cheap now) title.

Also good to see shopto send to you, I use them alot for Blu Rays. Very good company.
