I've been through tons of matches now with several level 6's just getting wiped because they think that their guns make them invincible and don't require teamwork. I myself have a level 6 demo perk but that requires a lot of team support to be used effectively.

Yeah seriously.

All I've seen from anyone level 6 so far, and I've played a ton of games with different ones, are them either running off by themselves, not giving any money away, which is really a pain (especially since, maybe it's just me but it seems the amount you earn is down since the update), or just acting like complete idiots and wasting away unneeded ammo and grenades and the such.

Speaking of money, I'd really love an increase in starting money. Kind of sucks to join a game about 6 or 7th wave in, not have anyone give you money and be stuck with a pistol for the next few rounds.

This also happened before the update. Lvl5 ones thought they are gods and played alone, then they got wiped faster than I managed to say f***.

Join different server. As sad as it is, I have to do that more than enough. Like 70% of random public servers are full of selfish rambos (mostly... Lvl5 or 6...) and they are not giving any money to anyone, they play all alone and call other ppl "noobs".

No kidding.

I was playing on hard with some guy who had lvl 6 in support, demo, and sharpshooter, and spawned as demo. He died EVERY WAVE and would whine for money every time he was at the trader (IE, "guys i just need 200 more for the M32 srsly guys help me outtt")

It's hard not to be overcome with that feeling especially playing on normal but even though I have all level 5 or 6 I don't run off to far and always attempt to help out new joiners with cash if I can afford it. It's not something that all high level players have I'm sure they were just as much f**ksocks when they were level 1.

I admit I've been feeling like rambo with my AA12 and being Level 6 support. But mostly when I die is because the game freezes when I'm under attack.

Hey I believe I played a game with you today, I was the guy who went demo all the time even when it wasn't practical.

I always go solo. I cannot stand noobs following me around drawing massive quantities of additional zeds only to fail at killing them and putting me in a bad situation where I'm not in control of where the zeds are coming from and then end up getting swarmed then they all die. Alone, I can easily control the direction by kiting and killing, and if the rest of the team dies I rarely ever have an issue with finishing off the rest of the wave alone. I do give out my additional money, splitting it between everyone, but I don't enjoy cramming up and getting clustereffed with players that dont know how to survive. If I see someone in trouble, I do my best to save them and will occasionally let them stay behind me for cover until theyre recooped.

Then this game is not for you then.
News flash: It's a co-op game!

And Riut, what's your name in game?

That's funny, I have tons of fun flying solo. When freeloader weekend is over I'll be able to group up with friends again since finding a server wont be impossible. My listen server doesn't work despite doing every step necessary to set one up and I'm not gonna pay for one for a month when they'll be open again in a day. My friends and do very well as a team, but I just cant magically make teamwork happen with noobies.

I agree with you there. Teamwork is essential but it's not feasible when all you have to work with is L4D noobs.

Anyone would think you were trying to compensate for something... especially since L4D happens to be a game revolving around Teamwork also.

It happens with some high levels... not because they think they're invincible but because they don't actually need to level the perk anymore so can go off and have some fun with it. Sometimes it backfires. And really, it only happens on Normal/Hard games, but thanks to the sheer number of new players ramping up the number of foes and frequently dieing theres not much you can do to prolong the inevitable wipe.

non sequitur troll post is non sequitur. quit derailing threads just to take potshots at me you L4D troll.

If someone goes off on a suicide spree just cuz they can't level anymore then they are crappy KF players. that isn't fair to their team.

It's not that hard. I'm level three demo and I've only really played it yesterday. In a single match at Doom2-Final, I managed 561 kills and about 400,000 damage with the M32, the M79, and a bunch of Pipe Bombs.

I'm a Demo level three too. I got about 450 kills on Doom2-Final and didn't even level up once.

But it does help a lot.

I've a level 6 Support Specialist, and I laugh at how easy it is for me to still die. If I was ever caught running around on my own with no backup whatsoever, it was because I was out of ammo and running to where I knew I could likely find some or because the area my group decided to defend was foolish and they were going to be wiped out. However, unless the ammunition was in visible range from a sensible defense point, it was often a suicidal attempt at re-arming myself. To be honest, I've seen less of the high level players running solo than I have the low levels (free weekenders...?). I've encountered people starting the game before everyone else is joined up, causing a quick end to that map.

Also, I've seen so many people run off and die on normal mode every wave and proceed to spend the rest of the wave rambling on about how this game sucks, L4D is better, the graphics are crap, etc. The last one was typically remedies by telling the players to change their graphics settings, as they typically were running the default setup. The two before, all I can say is if their gaming "skills" were enough for them to call L4D a "good" game, then I think it is too weak for me.

A freebie to the newbies: STICK TOGETHER! There is no quicker end to a match then a fool running off and getting killed, leaving the remaining team members to deal with the additional wave size his initial presence added.

Heh, I'm almost a full level 6 (a bit more to go on Demo...can't find servers to play on because of this annoying connection issue), and I have to admit, sometimes I do go Rambo, although most of the time it's more of "oh crap that door is going down, the 2 guys are desperatly trying to weld it, let me go clear that", and then running into like 3 sirens, a bloat, and a Husk. But I try and give out money as much as possible, although I do admit, I will probably not give out money on wave 2, or until I get my SCAR. After I get my SCAR, I'm Mr. Generous.
