Will RS2 feature a simple LAN option to play offline with people on local networks? This was a big feature missing in RO2 and RS1. I believe it's called a "listen" server if I'm not mistaken.

I mean like it's possible but I dunno about the feasibility of it.

Then again RS2 is apparently having game mods built for a lower amount of players.

My dad wants to play this game with me when it comes out and I want him to be able to practice with bots with me on our own LAN server to remove the probability of him getting ANNIHILATED by real players.

There probably won't be proper listen server support I'm afraid.

However you can still run a local "dedicated" server on the same PC as the client. That's what I've always done in order to get replication stuff working, going right back through RS1 to Darkest Hour.

Just add a shortcut to your desktop and add the appropriate launch flags. For example:

E:\Steam\SteamApps\common\red orchestra 2\Binaries\Win32\ROGame.exe server te-apartments?minplayers=32?maxplayers=32 -log

If you set an admin password in your config files, you can then login as an admin while connected to the server (adminlogin PASSWORD) and then run admin commands to add more bots, change map, etc. Or enable webadmin and do it through your web browser.

Well, that goes right over my head (I'm a simple man). Lol. That answers my question though, thank you for the response.
