There is a huge difference between balance and realistic balance. The M60 would just feel like a toy weapon with Bullpup damage. A Bullpup with drum mag would do the same job. A long reload time also can not compensate the high damage output.
There is no such thing as "realistic balance" in KF1. If I hadn't suspension of disbelief, I couldn't enjoy the gunplay in this game. Nevertheless it shouldn't get too unrealistic. *cough* zedfreezegun *cough*

I would like to know how much "damage output" a M60 needs to have to be believable in terms of "realistic balance", in your opinion.

Please don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to talk you into LMG's. I'm just interested where the problem seems to be.

Well it has the same ammo as the SCAR H, so it should have nearly the same damage.

The fact that someone thinks a M2 machine gun, which is something like a fully auto 100 round .50 Cal Barrett, would fit perfectly into the game, makes me have even more worries about the LMG balance topic.

I do not want to discuss this balance topic any further; there are more than enough threads out there about that. If you want a M60, there is already one in the workshop and it seems quite overpowered: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-RaNr8R8pyA

This would be 106 headshot damage.


6pHoE head healthpoints:
43,75 = Clot, Gore, Steve, Stalker, Bloat
437,5 = Husk/Siren
2834,75 = Scrake

The only thing the SCAR/FAL does better is taking down the big ones faster.

For me the immersion doesn't get broken if I couldn't take a flinched Scrake without getting a scratch. But thats just me.

To the guy arguing about the removal of the M60 from the vote. What is done is done. They have announced the winner so move on. They said sorry for that small mistake but they have valid reasons behind it.

Oh yeah, making a second bullpup with more ammo and a longer reload time is a great idea. That'll totally be a weapon people will enjoy using.

Oh, what's that now? You think a SCAR with 100-200 round capacity is something that wouldn't completely outshine every other assault rifle in this game? I have no idea how anyone could think otherwise!

"M-muh realism?" Wow, I, too, put realism first in a game about the zombie apocalypse!

You carry a battle cannon on the topic and want me to defend against those examples? Really? I confused M2 with M1918 Browning, M2 itself is NOT for personal carriage and classified as "Heavy" Machine Gun.
As, you've been saying we don't own a LMG class, let alone a belt-fed helper perk who will help the machine gun guy in the nest. I'd like to call bullsh*t, and an exaggerated one on that. Community wanted a LMG operated by a "single person" and you spew such absurd examples to evade the main question.

Also that video shows a solo game where a half magazine of SCAR would drop Scrake dead on its knees. You just don't wanna try it even in the least. "Seems OP" doesn't exactly explain anything from the shown video.

As you see this is a free event and we do not want to make an LMG which either would be a joke or overpowered. There is no LMG perk in KF.
Let's see how things will be in KF2. If there is a perk for it, then we will certainly make LMGs.

Yeah sure the M82A1 would totaly be balanceable with a 10 round mag, semi auto and lots of firepower. You can't be can't be sad if you have such a thing :D

As for; "balancing M82A1," if it's a semi-auto sniper rifle first you increase the base price of the rifle. Second, .50 BMG bullets is 250

We all know a few have requested an LMG in the past and you've been told, on various occasions why the gun was removed from the vote list. It shouldn't have been added in the first place. Your general comments come across as very harsh. Do you know how long it takes to make a weapon for KF, from scratch? (concept to final takes longer than a lot of people realise).

Anyway... I'm out. No point in bickering, we'll get a Disney freezer gun at least it'll be better than Naruto ninja stars.

You said you were done a few posts ago. I'm glad you've finally got it out of your system.

This is a lot of arguing over a free additional weapon. :(

I wasn't particularly interested in either the winner or the runner up, compared to a lot of the other entries, but hey whatever a free gun is a free gun.

Also, there's always KF2 for the weapon(s) you wanted to win this, right? Fingers crossed for brass knuckles, fireworks, tazers, etc. etc. in that. :D

+Heals teammates by 1,5 per gas unit when hit.
+Little area of effect on both damage and heal
+As much "afterburn" damage as blowerthrower.

-Limited ammo
-Gas travels and has limited range
-Healing effect applies only on medic perk
-Expensive
-Self healing impossible with gas
