I'm not liking the fact that I can't name myself differently in Ro2 from my steam name.

Everyone knows me under a certain name on Steam and now I have to change that just for Red Orchestra 2 so my rank and name is adapted to my unit's standards.

Please add profiles... this is like a basic concept.

Also, is it just me or I can't make the server browser show server population from biggest to lowest? (by pressing 'players') or listing the servernames in alphabetical order?

Unfortunatly that one profile thing seems to be the standard for steamworks games-and if so many games do it, there must be a good reason :/

You were able to change your name in-game in RO1, but now that in RO2 you have stats...

The reason is so you don't lose your stats when you uninstall the game. They are synced with Steamcloud just like they do with other games like MW2.

One profile per player because quite simply steam accounts aren't designed to be shared and are not supposed to be shared. I'd rather have only one profile in a game than lose my progress every time I reinstall the game. Same goes for the majority of other people.

Being able to change your name is essential. My screen name in all of my games is Flogger23m. That is not my Steam accounts name. :p

well... there's where the diference between "ID" and "Alias" matters.

The GUID of a player in RO1 stayed the same, no matter what they changed their name to. My steam ID was not my RO1 name. my steam ID is slyder25, my RO game name has been Slyder73.
I don't see why this has to change, and why Steam stats can't just use the GUID (or new version) to keep track of stats so we can change our in game names as we wish. The names for our stats would change as well but it would be the same profile.

By the way, I did find out how to change your in game name different from your Steam name.

Just go into your main STEAM page, SETTINGS, FRIENDS tabs... Change profile name and your in game name will change.

I just posted one up how you can change your in game name seperately from your Steam name.

Just go into your main STEAM page, SETTINGS, FRIENDS tabs... Change profile name and your in game name will change
