Ok, i think i've ripped off most of my hair with this and i'm tired of cussing at the top of my lungs... i need a little help with this as i've gotten no where. I've been making a map now and importing my own models and so far it's been fine. All of a sudden unrealed decided it wanted to hate everything i put in it. For example. I open unrealed and then go to static meshes and open up my usx file and everything is in there perfectly fine. Now, i open up the level i've been using them in and POOF when i look at the usx file in unrealed all the new stuff i added is magically GONE! I tried loading the entire package yatta yatta and nothing it's as if they were never there at all. This is very frustrating as they only dissapear when i open up the map i've been using them in... if i make a new map... they all work fine.... it makes 0 sense and i don't want to lose all the time i've spent on this map... someone please help me make sense of this. Thanks.

weird man i had to make a new usx file and it was like 7 megs smaller and had the same exact amount of models in it.. that fixed it but it looks like i've had to do this every single time i added a new model... i dunno i'm probably doing this all ghetto.

Im fairly sure you must import the meshes to the package 'mylevel'. when you do this, it doesnt make a new package, it actually stores the meshes in the map file so theres no need for excessive mesh packages, so when you send your single map file to someone, they will have the meshes. I had this problem which was really annoying, it also happens with terrain. So just make sure you put the meshes in mylevel.

If i put them in a package named mylevel will they get saved to the map when i save it? As in i don't have to make a mylevel usx?... interesting. Can the same be done for textures?

Yes if you import anything into package myLevel it will save inside the .rom file. One key thing tho (which I learned the hard way) is they will not be saved unless you add the actual texture, static mesh, etc to the map itself somewhere. If you just import, save and quit. It will purge it out because it's not actually used anywhere in your map. At least that is my experience.

What about renaming? Can i rename them out of my package into mylevel and reassign the stuff on the map to it or will i have to re-import.
