TW, Want to double your money?
Set up a deal to let the steam purchacers, purchace the CD version of the game at the same price. Most folks will do either/or...but not both. But if you had a deal like this, many would do it just to have the CD for a backup.(I know I would) Think about it, it still equals less money than the big money hungry publishing houses titles, and is a much better game.
I think it was mentioned earlier (I think Maxey checked the files) that only the games was there, ie models, etc. The maps still hadn't been sent out as they were still being checked for bugs. If the dl just increased itself then it's probably because that our friends at Tripwire managed to squash the bugs...which means we're that much closer to having the game unlocked. This isn't a bad thing, it's a good thing.Mormegil said:Once you have downloaded the game, you can make a CD backup using Steam.
BTW: When did the pre-load hit 1.8 GB? When I first d/l it was something like 800 MB. Now I noticed that it grew. When was the second preload?

Maxey said:I thought I might explain how Steam handles gcfs. When you install a game from Steam, it creates a blank gcf with the exact final file size and then it fills the file with data as it downloads. Also, the data that Steam downloads comes compressed, that's why it takes less time than it seems. The size of the gfc does not represents the real size of the game, Steam just reserves disk space before-hand. There hasn't been any second pre-load yet.
A second pre-load or it will download the rest on release date. I dunno.daschewy said:will there be a second batch to load or is it a one time deal?
