The thing is gonna be absolutely insane with a drum. You could clear a building with one mag o.o.

U still need only like 3 to 5 bullets to kill a guy. Try controlling ur firing, it will save u the extra bullets u seem to need.

Do I really need like 3 bullets at least to bring a man down with SMG? I hope one is more then enough in certain situations/hit locations.

The speed of the freeaim movement is faster than it was in RO and firing from the hip has a little added spread, which manifests more noticeably in the higher rate of fire of the PPSH. That said, it's still not an underpowered weapon. My friend was complaining bitterly last night that my PPSH was too good for his MP40, as he just couldn't take me down in close quarters 1v1 fights.

I gotta say, the PPSH gave me more than once the impression i was shooting blank in close quarters.
Didn't really know if it was a bug or if my aim was terrible.

I've had this feeling too a few times (after playing the beta for a whopping 14 hours yesterday according to Steam ).
There were a few times when I absolutely - positively put half a mag in an enemy and he was still running around.

I think the issue may be in the decreased accuracy when you move and hipfire. The game feels to me like if you sidestep when hipshooting, the rounds often go wild.

I'm sorry but I think I have to agree with the OP because I had the same "problem" or "bug" he had :

Sometime when I am literally ON the enemy, point blank, I can fire an entire magazine on the guy without a SINGLE shot registering. There is a problem clearly, maybe it's because I play with FOV 90, I do not know...

in my experience with both guns the MP40 seemed like the more versatile weapon, its lower fire rate helps aim it better well causing it suffer in more panic stricken situations, it also feels like it packs a punch at greater range, this means that even on larger maps you can actually use it to suppress or even kill the enemy effectively. the PPSH-41 is better suited for CQC and cause of its insane fire rate which makes it the perfect "oh s**t" weapon, its basically shreddy confetti on any kraut at up to 30m (ish). so basically think the MP40 as the utility weapon that's good in most situations, well the PPSH-41 is basically the shock troopers delight since it murders all other weapons in close quarters (not including a panicked out of position machine gunner)

I don't think this is unrealistic though. From the hip, unaimed, that PPSH is going to bark and jump around quite a bit. The round it is firing, the 7.62 x 25 is a hot one. I've fired thousands of rounds of it of at the range (granted not through PPSH, but through Tokarev pistols).
Try even firing a pistol from the hip 10 feet away from a mansize target and you'll probably be surprised how few shots, if any hit the paper, with any speed to the shooting it is amost impossible to get more than a round or two even for an experienced shooter.

Take that same gun and hold it properly and it's deadly. The PPSH might still be a lead squirtgun in game as in RO1, but it shouldn't be easy to aim without shouldering the weapon.

As they should, unlike some other game where you can stay incredibly accurate in any sort of motion...*cough* cod *cough*

Maybe I was wrong. But I do feel it harder to fight MP40 in close combat.
I used to kill a string of fascists in RO1 with 1 burst, but now I just can't.

Can't explain why.

because you are used to RO1's mechanics, how to stop the smg from spraying to the ceiling when you fire a few rounds...

When i first started palying i though the mp40 was god like with its managable full auto fire cutting down everything within range on apartments. But after a while ive gotten used to the ppsh. You need to do very small burst fire at ranges aiming for the neck and you hit somethign vital and you can get loads of kills. Of course theres also the full auto spam tatic at close range :D

I like the RO2 PPSh but I do seem to have to reload after every kill unlike RO1. I can't wait for the extended mag unlock. :p

Standing behind you
I find the MP40 to be quite a bit better. Highly controllable and accurate up to and past 200 meters.

The PPSH has some fairly hefty recoil and the shot grouping isn't fantastic.. though I think it'll shine when we get to use the 72 round drum

I really like the PPSh in RO2. Although I never played RO1 a huge amount I never really got the hang of using it.
