Well, I personally think your missing out on Portal2, I got it and it is a great game. All the magic of the first without feeling like a carbon copy like so many other sequals. Not tried the co-op yet. Waiting for a friend to get on.

Although I will agree that the TF2 style shop elements are not needed nor wanted.

Also picking at the Source engine's graphics is a rather petty grip. It serves it's purpose and looks fine in game. (There are one or two bits I noticed but was so wraped up in the game it hardly matters.)

Actually I agree that the source engine graphics are pretty outdated... Killing Floor has shown that the release date should not affect the fact that graphics can be improved during a game/engines life.

But in my opinon, I don't think it ruins a game to have bad graphics. Portal 2 I believe would be quite good. It would just be nicer if they upgraded their graphics one day.

Portal 2's graphics are actually pretty impressive compared to other source games. Is it crysis 2? No. But they're smooth, clean, yet developed enough to lack the term "lame". and when you play portal, thats what you ask for - graphics good enough to let you experience the gameplay. no need for fancy crap.

I wouldn't say the graphics are impressive.

The art style however... ;)
