And you felt like telling me? Honestly, telling any fan of any band that it sucks is asking for a flamewar
Anyways, i dont care what you think. I like them. I kind of moved on from there, but it was the band to 'initiate' me into metal, and the first music ever i actually liked. And because of that, i will allways love them.
Now you can tell me this or that, but to me all this Slipknot-hating and saying it's nu-metal is bull****. First, **** the genres. Next, Slipknot cant be compared to other nu-metal bands, imho.
They are different from 'known genres' yes, but it is their own style, and just by the lack of a better description of their style people call them nu-metal.
I dont care much about genres, they have run rampant anyway (frozen troll metal, wtf?). Genres come in handy for a description of a style, but nothing more. There are black metal bands i like, but also black metal bands i dislike, wich has nothing to do with the genre really.
Slayer, Lamb of God, Amon Amarth, Cannibal Corpse etc are all bands that i enjoy as well. And if Slipknot is among those bands and you dont like it, fine, but why tell me? What use is it trying to convince a fan their band sucks?
If people said "I dislike x band's music" instead of "x band sucks ***". It would save a lot of trouble and talking since it all comes down to personal preferences.
