I want to clear Suicidal acheivements, but I've only got a few friends who have Lv5+ perks. Before I convince them to join me, I'd like to know if it's even possible to do it with a small group. I'd like to hear experiences from how you guys have done it and what the class makeup was, how you killed the Patriarch, etc
Why shouldn't it be possible? The game scales the difficulty with the amount of players. More player equals more specimen.
This. The difficulty is scaled, and in fact its probably easier with only a few players because you cant really run out of ammo and theres less bigger specimens.
I'm being told that Demolitions is a no-go for Suicidal
Well, usually demo is in fact pretty useless on suicidal. In order for it to work out, you need a good team which can protect the demo who is useless in close-combat situations. Pipebombs can be very useful against fleshpounds and such, but you also need quite a lot of money to buy all that every round which all boils down to teammates and their support again.
But then theres also the smoke problem which distracts teammates.
Id only recommend it for very advanced players.
the Crossbow is the best weapon
For now, yes. Can take out anything with one headshot, even fleshpounds. Assuming you are a level 6 sharpshooter (or actually I dont think you have to be level 6?). After the next update, it wont be as powerful anymore so enjoy while you can
How does the new Firebug do in Suicidal?
Crappy. Its probably about as useful as demo with the exception of being able to handle close-combat sitations much better. Before the previous update, he also ran out of ammo all the time because you had to hose down gorefasts and other quick specimens on certain maps. Now that you have Mac10 the ammo lasts a bit longer but seeing how every specimen in suicidal is so damn fast, you cant really rely on burning damage which means you have to waste ammo on hosing down targets and using full-auto on the Mac.
This of course depends on the map, for example in West London he can do
pretty good as long as he stays at the back of the group and uses Mac10 on semi-auto to set targets on fire from afar, but on maps like Bedlam its pretty hopeless.
If you are playing with a 4 man team Id recommend using
1. Support with hunting shotgun and regular shotgun. You probably dont want AA12 because its so damn prizy and runs out of ammo quickly, but maybe its useful on a 3-4 man game where you have less specimens? Anyway just make sure you have the hunting shotgun because the doublebarrel shot is extremely powerful.
2. Sharpshooter with crossbow or... bleh... m14. Very effective against anything.
3. Medic with crossbow, or katana (and ofc medicgun). Crossbow is good for assisting the sharpshooter in taking down scrakes/fleshpounds, katana good for quick escapes and close combat.
4. Commando just because he's cool
Or if you have a 3 man team you might want to leave the medic out.
