First off, I'd like to congratulate Tripwire Interactive on the work they've done, Killing Floor is a truly fantastic game and it's really fun to play.
Now, I hope these suggestions are either put in use or inspire new ideas!
My first suggestion is for weapon customization. Instead of the flashlight only being on the 9mm and shotgun, maybe make it an attachment that costs 200 pounds and can be put on any gun.
Besides universal attachments, maybe add customizations that increase weapon stats but are in depth - for instance, maybe have a grip for the shotgun that increases firing rate. I would avoid cut and dry 'increase mods', i.e. being able to increase a weapons damage without any reason.
My second suggestion is that maybe the player can have a different setup when they spawn - as in, they get to choose some of what they start with. Maybe support specialists want to start with more armor? Sure, but they have to sacrifice some pistol ammo.
My third suggestion is to allow players to choose some of the bonuses they get from perks. The class-type leveling is solid, but maybe have an overall player level type thing that unlocks a set of perks that the player can choose from - that way the player has to combine those perks with their class perks. The increased strategy will keep players interested for longer.
To summarize, I just feel that you game needs to involve more pre-planned strategy, with the combination of perks and attachments. I know this will make Killing Floor more like Call of Duty, but I believe it would really help improve your game.
Sincerely,
Reid52
