If they included those extra hats and animations, and charged $60, everyone would be moaning then, too.
You can't have it both ways. It's either DLC, or more expensive games.

And there's no way i'm paying 15 Euro's for just 4 maps, or 2 Euro's for a shrugging animation, don't be daft, the content is not worth the asking price, and is just plain greedy.
I can agree that day 0 DLC is wonky and an attempt to get some extra cashola. But really, so long as Valve puts the money towards HL 3 I sure as heck wouldn't mind helping out. Well, maybe once they announce HL 3 or give some more info on it I wouldn't have a problem with getting some cosmetic doo hickeys. A developer like IW, which doesn't really push the envelope when it comes to game design I wouldn't want to buy extra stuff from. But a developer like Valve I wouldn't mind.
My point is: I'm willing to buy purely cosmetic DLC's like KF's skins to say thank you to developers for upgrading, fixing game and adding brand new free content.
Paying for something what is already in new 50$ game, which I just bought is lame.
And there's no way i'm paying [...] 2 Euro's for a shrugging animation
and the TREND that it may end up setting
Hmm. I just thought of something. Those robots in the game, that appear in the commercials for the game, do they remind anyone else of the Combine Elite soldiers in HL2?
imagine the outrage that would ensue on these forums if activision started charging for animations in a SP/co-op game
