Portable Mortars?

Title says it all. The Darkest Hour team is coming out with portable mortars that use a gunner and spotter system, and judging by the tutorial they recently released, it looks very nice. Have you guys at TW considered adding such a system to HOS?

I think Carpathian Crosses did it nice.
But its better to have somebody who is in TS with you and plays the spotter

Let's see how the mortar system in DH works before introducing something similar to Heroes of Stalingrad. The Carpathian Crosses mortar system had the problem that high angle fire with high amount of propellant made the mortar bombs hit the map ceiling and therefore exploded there for no effect. I don't know if the developers of the Darkest Hour mod fixed that or not but if this particular problem is endemic to the Unreal-engine then it wont make sense to try to implement such weapons into RO games.

ue3 is additive geometry. Therefore there theoretically isn't a roof to the map, although even if you make a ceiling a mere 32768 high it's 32768*0.02 = 655.36m, so we got at least some room to move around in :D

Well since the command can call in mortars I wouldn't expect it in the standard game or on release. Maybe it can be a mutator or a server option, adding spotter and mortar classes and removing the commanders mortars.

Maybe even in RS?
