Tripwire can not win. People were complaining about how Tripwire should add more content with contests a few weeks ago. So what does Tripwire do? They have a contest. What does this poisonous community do? Bash them for doing the contest of course! Wish in one hand and **** in the other I guess is the message to send.
They can do what is right.
Finish the game as per the advertised components before lauching a Comp.
10 perks. All released during EA progressively to the ultimate EA goal of having them all balanced and ready for full a proper release.
Not 4 perks with comps, or advertising/marketing the small release of content as "New free Content" like the game has been released. It seems all little misleading to me.
I just want the game finished and released so i can buy it and play it. And that is what i am waiting for. I see a incomplete game that is in early access...hence why i dont buy it. Yet it is running comps like it is full release.

No sense in complaining about waiting for a final game to come out... just purchase it and dive in. Over half of the perks are available already and custom maps are already starting to pop up regularly to add some variation to the mapcycle..
Meanwhile, contests to enhanced the final product should be more than welcomed by anyone who is a fan of the franchise..

If that contest had a meaningful impact I would agree, similarly to the polycount tf2 items waaay back when, but this is just cosmetic reskins and doesn't add any tangible value other than 'hey look at how cool my gun looks even though it's functionally the same as yours'

I think payday characters would be fun to have here. there style fits with the current characters. Old hoxton is pretty much already a KF character.
I dont think this competition is sucking programming time from tripwire, is polycount and the modders and external creators bussiness, if you dont want more skins dont use them, but i fail to see the wrong doing here. People love to complain. I agreed when the community started to say the developers should give more updates about the state of the game, because the community was right, but this *****ing about an external competition it's a little childish, IMO.
It is not external. It is run by TWI read the Fine print for competition rules.
I finally went through this mid week and honestly didn't see much I voted yes for - the Obama mask was a keeper though.
