I would like to see some weapon customization or more skill customization. I don't know why you haven't implemented these features yet. Most of the modern shooters allow you to customize almost everything ( COD, Battlefield etc.)

do cosmetics that include references from killing floor qualify? It says it has to be original so I'm not sure.

Example: Fleshpound themed hat

I hail from Sweden.
I wonder how many will be voting "Yes!" on everything..
I have gone through everything (workshop cannot make more queues) and I have voted truthfully. My "Not Interested"/"Yes" ratio is in favor of "Not Interested".

Polycount produced some pretty cool and also some really lame skins in their Chivalry contest. Beware...

Not to poo-poo the event, but Oy has a point.

With their Polycount contest Torn Banana Hammock admitted into their game some downright out-of-place, ridiculous items on grounds that could only be reasonably, and generously, construed as "Well, it looks cool," or "It's well-made."

What that occasion also showed is that some contest entrants were merely capable modelers and artists who
never really played the game
and as such had little to no understanding of the game's theme and setting and what would fit in to that.

That being said TWI is a far more professional and experienced developer than TBH is (or might ever be), so I have greater confidence in their contest. I still won't be holding my breath regardless.

EDIT: I just realized its only weapon skins and cosmetics, not gun models.
I tried modeling a gauss rifle for killing floor a while back (before KF2 was announced) but I gave up when it came to cleaning up, animating and texturing the model.

Spoiler!

I ditched the idea of iron sights (concept) for a more holographic sight (not modeled) like the microwave gun but I had no idea how to make a floating sprite. Also I originally used a teeth look for the magnetic conductors but decided I liked rings more and figured it was more realistic.

first time modeling anything in a 3D model program aswell

Over here, no not there, here.

Yeah with the teeth it seems more stylized but also seems more like a railgun.
. . .
but with the rings it looks more solid and pleasing to my eyeballs
also I understand the guass mechanism better so that pleases my inner nerd
. . . it's an outer nerd too, and an everywhere else nerd. . . It's me, I'm just a nerd :B

Either way though, a weapon like this for sharp wouldn't suprise me.

Im genuinely perplexed that you can run a competition under the auspices of a Early access?
What does Steam think about running comps under a EA agreement? IMO, Comps are for when the game is finished as promotion, not before.

I don't see why that's a problem.

They're complementing the game content before final release - what's the issue?

A WIP thread for gun skins... what?

I vote yes on almost everything I see on TF2.
I guess you will vote no for me then ),:
