Problem is there is no exciting gameplay.

Its pointless adding a new zed(s) to the game if it remains the same.
I've always had this dumb idea about a new shadow-type zed that didn't technically attack you but prevented you from attacking other Zed. It's basically super weak initially and slow but it can travel up walls and crawl across ceilings then drop on someone. Once it's gotten a hold of a player, they're completely helpless due to every time they fire a shot it hurts the Zed but it also hurts them because it will drain the players health to heal itself. I had a limit to it how much health it could drain before the trapped player could kill it, I think it was 50% of the players initial health level before they were trapped. So if you had 50 health remaining, once it could no longer absorb your health when you attack it, you could kill it but then you'd only have 25 health remaining, but at least you'd be free.

Other players could hit it, but the same health draining would occur just not on the same extreme level. Maybe 15 - 25% of the initial health level depending on the weapon used. If you use a grenade to kill the zed then both the zed and the player would die so the weapon to free the player had to be chosen wisely otherwise the player may end up spectating.

I wasn't sure if other zed could still hurt the player or not, that's why I never bothered mentioning it before.

How about a mix mod?

Put a bit of everything in there.

I like the idea of off the wall creatures.

I like the mutants dont get me wrong, but from a mod side of things, as long as its done properly, anything could work.

I was reading about the game Alan Wake the other day, and thought it would be neat to have a creature like the one you posted, and have it's weakness exposed when you use flashlight on them, then have the team unload on it. I know it's not original, but neither is Alan Wake :p

Pretty much all of whats been discussed so far isn't suitable I'm sad to say.

With all due respect thats down to user interpretation slim...

If you're looking at it from an official standpoint, then yeah, TWI can only really release a mutant zed.

But from a mod stand point, people could release a puff of smoke and call it a zed and it would work, AKA thats why its a mod.

I see nothing wrong with any idea on that list...


And to wrap that up, if you do have a problem with a someone releasing any of the above ideas in a mod then you're quite honestly an ignorant self centred little lucker... minus the L add the F and you're there.

And to clear that up! No Jester and I aint calling you one, i'm saying it in general.

Ya'll should be happy about anything that gets thrown your way... its not like your doing anything to deserve it after all... Only reason TWI are bothered about you is the fact you're giving them money...

I was never a fan of the brute, the textures were all wrong.

They've updated the textures, model and animations and everything about this zed is now perfect. We just have to wait for the guys with the servers to download the new content...

No worries mate, I didn't take offence. Although I think you may have misread my post a little bit and thought I was putting everyone down. I didn't mean anything by it, I just meant literally that KF has a rather specific style of back story for it's zeds, and therefore only zeds that can match that style are suitable for consideration. Thus far none of the zeds mentioned really fit into that style.

Thing is whenever I see a suggestion in the ideas and suggestion section (although in fairness this isn't in the I&S scetion, my bad), I automatically assume its a suggestion for the vanilla game unless told otherwise. As such I will give my opinion in relation to the vanilla game (although again in fairness I seem to have skimmed over that second line in the OP. My bad again :))

A mod is a mod, there is no reason whatsoever not to have a mod. I'm 100% behind any kind of creation of a mod, so if this is all for a mod, go for it :D
