I doubt adding jamming would dig RO2 out of it's unrealistic hole. If anything it will just enjoy the skill orientated player base, ideally if there were big, wide open maps to run around like in RO where people might live longer than a minute or so, then yes jamming map be a good thing. Hell i'd love to see a dynamic environment where if you're crawling around on dirt, your weapon's chance of jamming increases and such. Probably difficult to implement I suppose...

I think it would be ok, if the semis only jam, if you shoot to fast round by round. That would be realistic. If i fire my SVT in a normal way, i have no problem. Problem extsts only while "fun-shooting" with higher cadence.

No russian used his SVT for bumm bumm bumm bumm bumm in real, while WWII.

I know alot of you are against weapon jamming, but I would love to have it. Just want to get an overview of the community's feeling on this.

I voted no, but the only reason why is because of how RO2 works with weapons.

As your character progresses in the game, they become Vet and eventually Hero.... as this happens the quality and condition of your weapon becomes better and well maintained.

This means that higher leveled players would have far less of a chance of their weapon jamming, while newer / lower leveled players would end up suffering from gun jams more often and thus, at a disadvantage.

I like the idea of weapon jams and think they'd make things pretty interesting, but the way RO2 operates, a lot of players, especially new players, would be pretty ticked off due to the imbalance.

I don't think that's a valid reason not to go for jamming.
Just ditch the 'heroes have clean weapons' part. Give everyone a dirty weapon. The best player of the previous round receives a clean weapon which is less likely to prone.

Didn't this come up a bit in the ost forums?

The negatives far outweigh the positives for jamming in game, and it just doesn't make sense unless you want to add an rpg aspect to the game. Of course that means one life per retail key, so maybe tripwire would be down for that ;)

It just doesn't seem right for this game.

ROOST was always a balance between simulator and Shooter... and RO2 is kind of tipping towards the whole shooter side now...

Meh. The community seems to be split in half on this one though, I don't think it'd be a good idea.

The AVT would jam after a second of firing and then blow up. This is a rubbish idea.
