Problem is it isn't just 46 other people.

There are other servers running the same map, people are playing. Heck, another forum I'm on has probably 20 people discussing the beta, the only issues that have been mentioned are poor optimization and the server browser. So I'd safely say "the majority" are not CTDing every time a map comes up, seeing how I've seen more unique users nod in a positive manner than mention CTDing.

Until now I can personnaly report the crash problem to concern 3 out of 4 players.
But that could be because no crash guys might be playing more and have nothing to say about this since they don't crash.

I have seen full game releases that were buggier than this beta, BC2 for example, and they are a million dollar game company, also had allot of server browser issues, crashes, strange bugs. But they got ironed out eventually...

BC2 has the battlefield and EA name attached.

What is Tripwire? What is Red Orchestra?

If you don't think branding makes a difference, think again.

Have you not seen? 90% of testers right now cannot play the game! The only problems that has been "fixed" is the server browser problems and the CTD's, but those are still happening more frequently than before they were fixed...

Are you not seeing the problem here? Things are getting fixed, but not getting fixed at all.

Yeah, 90%, which is why I always see many servers loaded with people. Too bad they don't count in your number, apparently.

The fact of the matter is that the majority of this forum (excluding me) is already beta testing.

Plus all I'd need to do is spend an extra $8 if I was really that worked up over playing the game...

So a delay means :

no effect on gametime for anyone who preordered the DDE
more open beta testing for player feedback
more time to squash bugs
more polish -> higher review scores, better first impression on release date.

What I'm curious about is how many people new to Ro2 are waiting for it to come out. Not meaning the forum goers or anything, but people who happen to see an ad online or something. TWI said they were making a HUGE marketing push in the last month or so... I've seen so far the one HD gameplay video and that's it.. maybe I'm missing something, but if I don't go to the forums I don't really hear about RO2.

^ I think the media stuff is up to us now. Would you watch trailers when you have actual gameplay videos of like.. everything ingame?

Regardless of bull**** statistics, if you take a look at the forums, especially the support forums, you'll notice there is quite a large number of people still running into crashing issues and every single person I've talked to has the server browser bug and I've been seeing some 'speedhack detected' issues along with random fps drops and the like. It's very hard to argue that this game is ready for release, there's no way you could say it's even close to bug-free because it's so obvious that it's not.

I had crashing issues and I still can't see the server browser (thank goodness for favorite server list) I fixed the crashing issues by changing 2 simple lines in the .ini, but it doesn't work for a lot of other people. So there's obviously more than one issue going on here related to crashing which makes it even worst.

If tripwire thinks they can fix all/most of the crashing bugs and the anti-hack issues before the 13th all the power to them, but at this pace I feel it'll need more time.

I'm not saying that, I could care less about trailers or official hd gameplay videos. I'm just saying like advertising wise, I haven't seen a whole lot from Ro2 and it makes me a little nervous even that it's not going to be very well marketed.

Like Ro1 this one will be good... 1 year after its release. It takes its time so no hurry. But they should release it for people able to play without greater problems.
At the moment i have every bug

Just gonna copy-paste my post from the other thread cos I don't really understand why people think it's SUPER BUGGY CANNOT BE RELEASED WITHIN A WEEK.

I haven't seen ANY bugs that cannot be fixed in a week. I don't understand why people assume it takes massive amounts of time to fix a bug. It doesn't. As soon as what causing it is found, it's often fixed by changing a few lines of code and testing if it works.

There are no gamebreaking bugs at the moment, I don't understand why people claim it's buggy as hell - it's not. It's just a wee bit unpolished - which is the exact reason it got delayed for 2 weeks. The week they have left is enough to iron out and smoothen it up for release I think. I don't think they even can delay it again, but if they do, it's most likely a week or 2 max.

Seriously - fixing a few bugs doesn't take several months. This thread has some really ridiculous suggestions - delay until december? Lol what?

no BETA and DELAY make Bear go CRAZY!!!

i'll agree to delay the release 1 month if DDE beta access will end on the 13th.

that way, were all crazy.

Just 4 weeks ago there were topics about the Beta being no more but a demo, because software studio's were not able to make changes 2 weeks before release, now we have one week of beta, and a huge pile of problems were solved allready, in 1 week.

And now this?

I say have some trust in this studio and their team, this is not EA

I do trust the developers they are working hard on releasing an awesome and functional game, but I'm also realistic. It is by no means a bash towards TWI.

This, I work as a software tester and have had projects where I sat right besides the developers, if I could replicate a bug without fail then they were often capable of fixing it within minutes, at worst in one afternoon, the tricky part is more often than not finding the exact scenario that triggers a bug, heh.

It's pretty rare that a bug necessitates entire sections of code to be rewritten. Especially this late in development.

The only thing that is getting annoying is the bugged markers on the screen, because according to patch notes both patches should have fixed it... yet it still happens all the time which is kinda odd
