Please do not release in current state, you will lose credibility.

Nearly 60% of the poll saying no to release should tell you something.....

TWI, your new release date is:

When it's done.

That should end all the problems, eh?
Wasn't that the motto for Duke Nukem? :D

On a more serious note. TWI should delay it a month. Reason being: they have a already small player base. For the amount of work, effort, and time they put into this I want them to have good reviews so they can make more money so WE can have more RO's. I don't want to see TWI on "All Your History" as another company that went under from bad reviews that subsequently caused low sells. I think TW has done an amazing job on this game. But there's only so much so many can do. If you delay it a month you can get the good majority of the problems and fix the small minority's later.

Of course the final decision is up at TWI. We understand they don't want to disappoint fans by delaying again. But at some point you have to think about the repercussions of releasing a game now rather than later. Even if you patch today's problems you will have problems that arose from the LAST patch that you need to fix. ALl I can say is I hope TWI does what's best.

Sure thing is, TWI knows better than us if it should be delayed or not.

True,

But I think most developers who released buggy games knew it should have been delayed.

It's not a matter of excellence, it's a matter of budget, and the inevitable lack of it.

I voted a month delay, at least. I have played a lot of beta's in my time and this has to be one of the worst considering its only a week or so away from release. I mean, its a beta, so its bound to have bugs and so on, but this game is very far from release-worthy in my eyes. This is my opinion though, the game is still playable so whatever the devs decide is fine.

Just 4 weeks ago there were topics about the Beta being no more but a demo, because software studio's were not able to make changes 2 weeks before release, now we have one week of beta, and a huge pile of problems were solved allready, in 1 week.

And now this?

I say have some trust in this studio and their team, this is not EA

True, because EA's Battlefield 3 ran smoother than this beta. And that was Alpha testing.

Eh.. I really dont care now that I can play the beta, w/e is better for TWI.

They wont ditch the game 2 days after release like DICE does and go work on a DLC/RO3, bugs will still be fixed, and we will get lots of free content and what not, so w/e.. not worried here, at all.

I'm not sure if I would like a month delay, but I wouldn't mind another week or two to iron out the bugs. I honestly haven't been victimized by a large number of bugs.

don't "charge" me to beta test a game, i have paid for this title & i require it to be relatively bug free, not PACKED with ctd issues, browser errors, piss poor textures & having to play russian roulette in getting into a server.

Hold back with release please or do yourselv'es a great disservice.

I hope you have not gone gold on disc production based on the curent beta release, if you have you have severly damaged your reputation.

Lets remember people this game was originally a mod, i enjoyed it back in the day but.... these devs have never released a AAA standalone tiltle, only mods, perhaps they are being too ambitious, hence the low retail price point?

Kaos Studios anyone?

Release it on time, for the love of god don't delay.

Most people I've spoken to are raving about how great the game is, can't it be released and then whatever needs fixing be fixed with patches?

Yeah but DNF is out, and few would argue that it's not the greatest FPS of all time. I only needed about ten minutes in-game before I ceremonially torched my copy of The Orange Box as a mark of respect and... awe.

I know TWI is amazing when comes to supporting their games A++++ rating (sounds like I'm rating ebay seller :D)

Question is can they pull it off by fixing good 80% of the bugs till the 13th? Honestly I dont care how many more bugs are left because I know devs will continue working on them after the release, question is how a new customer reacts when he encounters them on the full release, lots of customers dont read the forums or know whats happening with the game... they might not be as understandable as the gamers who have been gaming for 5+ years or more.

Between the server browser, the map voting, the messed up light on the outline of your gun, cqb hitboxes, running through enemies, mesh and bloom breaks, rubber banding in tanks, or constantly jittering while in a tank, and lag. There is a lot to be done and quite frankly, 2 weeks isn't long enough. I know that isn't what people want to hear, but that is a fact.

Wow, 46 people don't crash? Well, in that case release the game now, screw the other hundreds guy.

Problem is it isn't just 46 other people.

There are other servers running the same map, people are playing. Heck, another forum I'm on has probably 20 people discussing the beta, the only issues that have been mentioned are poor optimization and the server browser. So I'd safely say "the majority" are not CTDing every time a map comes up, seeing how I've seen more unique users nod in a positive manner than mention CTDing.

This is their official forums, where people that have issues with it come to talk about the issues. It is not a good judgement of just how many are actually having these showstopping issues. Pretty much everything else is a fairly minor thing that will quite likely be squashed easily enough, bar optimization which I bet you will come down to a couple lines of code somewhere that was added in a rush and just doesn't quite work right.

Think about it, how did they get to the point they felt good enough to release the DDE beta? Final phase of beta - I'm not convinced this is what the actual product is or will be like. Why is it suddenly now that certain maps CTD, don't you think this probably has come up before in the previous rounds of beta?

(And no, I'm not in the release it nao group... I'm on the fence. I do think they can fix most everything well enough for a launch in this era as I do not believe the issues to be nearly as major as many make it out to be around here.)

Without a more organized mass test, (especially in this type of game) post release will be when they discover the most bugs. Might as well get the game in a state their confident in, stick to a release and continue to iron out bugs after release.
Sad truth, but when you got 50 forums pages consisting of the same bug being reported over and over things tend to get fixed slowly. Also not to my knowledge have I've seen any bug reporting feature built-in.
