Until now I can personnaly report the crash problem to concern 3 out of 4 players.
But that could be because no crash guys might be playing more and have nothing to say about this since they don't crash.

So you have personally asked every last player about their issues of the game. Funny, I never got your survey. Unless you are saying 3 out of 4 people you know who play this game CTD, which means jack squat.

Puny sample sizes are useless. If I ask 4 people what their political allegiance is, it doesn't tell me anything. Could just be I got 3 guys who really like xxxxxxxx party even though they are a minority. If I ask 4 people if they like cookies and all of them just happen to not like cookies, that doesn't indicate no one likes cookies - infact, it should be clear the majority of people do indeed enjoy a cookie.

Regardless of bull**** statistics, if you take a look at the forums, especially the support forums, you'll notice there is quite a large number of people still running into crashing issues and every single person I've talked to has the server browser bug and I've been seeing some 'speedhack detected' issues along with random fps drops and the like. It's very hard to argue that this game is ready for release, there's no way you could say it's even close to bug-free because it's so obvious that it's not.

You do realize that is what technical support forums are for, right? ;)

You realize these issues are widespread, meaning it isn't individual people's fault?

Did I say it is your fault? Nowhere did I say it was anyone's fault. Want me to? Sure, Archchunk, it is your own personal fault for not buying the exact hardware configuration out of thousands that will run this game perfectly with no issues.

I'm addressing the guys who insist "the majority of users" are experiencing CTDs. It's an out and out lie to say the "majority" because you can look in a subforum for people who have the issues. Is there an issue? Heck yea. But still, it is what it is.

It's a beta. It's been reported by certain users, it's hopefully been logged by those certain users correctly. At this stage of the game, do you really think they just pushed us a beta to push a beta? Every last one of these issues would have come up previously as "widespread" as they are claimed to be.

When did I say the majority of users? By widespread I mean there's more than just a small group of people. If I go to the support forums right now I can see at least 10 or 20 threads about crashes. My point is this isn't everyone who is going to be playing the game at launch, if everyone who has preordered/is going to buy the game once it launches was playing and the same % was having these issues there would be a lot of pissed off customers.

That said I have faith that tripwire can certainly fix this issue(s), and if they can fix it within the next week awesome! But I feel they will probably need more time.

Then I am not addressing you there. However, I am directly addressing you in the first paragraph of my post above.

As much as it pains me to say it (as i love the game) i selected 1 month at least.

There really needs a heck of a lot of optimising and bug fixes and i really don't see how this can be done in a 2 weeks delay let alone 1 week before release.

After the packet loss and speed hacking crap I've been encountering since the last patch, I have to now switch my vote to a delay of some kind.

Everything was working pretty great for me before the last patch, thus I had no issues for it being released on the 13th.... but now that this packet crap is hitting me & crippling my gameplay, I'd say at least another two weeks to delay. Having something like that hitting buyers right out of the opening gates will make things even more problematic than a delay.

It seems right now that for every patch released to solve 5 problems, 10 more show up..... ok maybe an exaggeration, but several moderate problems are fixed while two new major ones appear.

I'm fine with still playing the beta until the new release date (if they do that).... and others can purchase the DDE to play the Beta until the release, so a delay might be a wise decision at this stage.

Unless Trip can fix up these major issues in the next few days, such as zero pings being displayed, the packet loss PB bans for wireless users, the browser showing only empty servers, and low FPS's on certain maps, etc.... it should be delayed.

I agree with you Cpt. I just seems like there's no downside to delay for two weeks with continued open beta.

I agree with you Cpt. I just seems like there's no downside to delay for two weeks with continued open beta.

I also think for a decent balance and compromise for other buyers of the game who didn't get the DDE who'd now have to wait another 2 weeks or more to play, Trip should offer them beta access on the 13th of September until the official game is released..... if they do decide to delay that is.

As a person who paid for the DDE, I'd have no issues with the regular purchasers getting beta access on Sept 13th.... it'd only be fair, so long as they don't get the unlocks DDE purchasers get for their extra "Dosh".

That should help reduce the amount of people coming into the forums complaining about another delay.... they'd at least have the beta to play until release.... something they originally wouldn't have had in the first place.

The DDE people would still have had the early access to the beta, and all the unlocks, like weapons, medals, character models for KF and hats for TF2, and DDE people would have still had the same amount of time to play the beta before the official release, so that DDE deal has been met & if a delay happens, they still get to play the beta for longer.

For those who pre-ordered the regular version, they'd be on the losing end of the deal and there'd be a lot of complaining and raging going on because it'd yet be another delay for them...... so to curtail this problem happening, Beta access on the 13th would be wise to do and about as fair as one could get in regards to putting them into this position yet again..... I think a lot of the regular purchasers would be pleased with this offer. Sure they don't get their official release, but they still get to play the game and be involved in the beta, where they would never have had in the first place, so there'd be little room to complain.

Just a thought.

Delay the game again (however longs it takes), but keep the beta going until the day it comes out.

Hell, you could even make the beta go public for everyone and anyone. This seems like a perfect solution.

That sounds like a good idea but keep in mind there are idiots out there that will play the beta and if something makes them crash or lag or have some sort of problem, they won't bother buying the game because they think tripwire won't fix it/don't feel like finding a fix.

There are already idiots that are complaining loudly about the game not working properly and saying they are cancelling. They seem to forget they are in a Beta not a Demo.

TBH another two weeks. The main core gameplay is solid but there are some anomalies at the sides that would make the 'average gamer' not too happy.

I agree. So many beta's these days just end up being glorified demo's for marketing purposes (yet another wonderful thing this generation of consoles has bought us), that its almost lost its definition within the wider gaming community.

I'll throw you guys my two bits. The developers, not the unwashed masses here on the forums. You guys have a great game here, a real AAA experience. But it really, really needs that AAA polish if you want it to sell like hotcakes. The communications tab is broken completely, the spawn on squad leader works half the time, and the game is suffering from instability and poor performance. We the fans ****ing love you guys and your game, but the gaming press won't be so forgiving, and if you want this game to reach its full potential audience, you need to make this game shine before you hand it over to the critics.

The game needs at least two weeks, but probably a full month before it's really ready for release. I know TWI will support their game excellently (better than most devs for sure), but if the game is still buggy and has performance issues on release you all know it will get slammed by the critics and potential customers will shy away from it. Tripwire doesn't have the funding larger studios do, so they can't throw money at the media to conveniently ignore bugs and give the game a perfect score (we all know how often this happens these days) and poor reviews are not something you want at all.

I really want to have the full version of the game, but more than that I want it to be as close to flawless as possible when it comes out. I know a hell of a lot of people are impatient and have no clue how things work in the real world and expect it out RIGHT NOW, but honestly if those people cancel their preorders over another delay I really don't think we're losing anything valuable as a community, do you?

Maybe open the beta to all preorders on the planned release date, then take an extra month to perfect the game. That's what I would do.
